read on one of those crap transfer rumour sites that they are after Benni McCarthy and Henry Ilonga from West Ham, and they thought it couldn`t get any worse.
Am I missing something, Cheeky? Wednesday are 10 times the size of Bournemouth so playing second fiddle to them must be a bitter pill to swallow, I'm sure.

And we think that SCC are arrogant ! Bournemouth fans would probably say that they have exceeded their expectation but they are there on merit and without the wastage of budget that Wendy have. A truly insulting remark from a complete idiot.

That is fact. Wednesday are an enormous club and should only have aspirations to be in the top flight and not scrubbing about playing two bob village outfits like Bournemouth.
Well only time will tell but I bet they'll start the season as first or second favourites.
Once again you lot show this club up to be as small time as we are. We're 4 points clear with a bucket of games in hand instead of enjoying the moment you're trawling other bigger clubs sites to pick holes in them.

I agree, I'm not entirely sure what he has said wrong. If he'd been some deluded fool that thought Wednesday were going to go up automatically this season then maybe you'd have a point but in this case he is simply pointing out how far they have fallen.
Agree with all of this. I was looking forward to that thread and some tremendous delusion and all I see is a large number of rational posts. Sheffield Wednesday ought to be like Aston Villa or Everton - that sort of club. They play in a stadium that regularly used to host 50,000 in cup semis, and even now holds just under 40,000. And Arthur, as if to prove your point about some of our fans, some utter bell-end supporter of ours has bounced an ancient thread laughing at them. *cringe*

Agreed - it is utterly cringeworthy. I remember not too long ago some twit on here stating that it was a joke that we could not beat clubs like Rochdale - it interests me why that would be the case as at the beginning of the season we are all starting in the same league for a reason.
however - clearly if we had spent the last 20 years with recene memories of cup smei finals, premier league football, crowds of 40,000 (which might i add is larger than we have ever had) then it must be difficult to work out why a club of that size is struggling in league one to beat sides that certainly for the last 30 years have never really been out of the two basement leagues.
It may rile us - it may annoy us and indeed it may be true that bellends appear from 'larger' clubs sites come on here and make patronising comments its not half as cringeworthy as going on to their sites and gloating. For christs sake its the first time in 8 years we have had something to be excited about, the first time frankly ever we have had a ground to be proud of, the first really talented manager who understands how to mould and build a team but we are summed up in one word.

And given hte events over the last 20 years i would have given my right arm to even have just that - potential.
Its really wqhat we do from here on in that will underliune whether we are a bunch of one season wonders who had a go in the Championship and then faded away - or whteher in 10 years time we can call ourselves an established championship club with a chance of doing a Charlton.
But in the meantime - if we do cock this all up there are going to be some very painful threads bounced on here that were started by some utter cockknockers.

If Premier League chiefs could handpick 20 teams for their ideal division would Wednesday be in there? I'm not sure. Probably around 20th spot with Southampton.
The Championship is full of genuinely big sides that have been outside of the "top flight" for many seasons now. Wednesday should just be grateful they've got 2 Steel City derbies to look forward to next season.

Agreed, nowhere near Everton and Villa who both have a very, very long heritage of being top 6 Division One/Prem sides.

What I like is that before Christmas they were still talking as if they would walk this division as their god-given right. Now they are grateful for a 0-0 draw against a team that was two divisions below them this time last year. Is the reality of third division football sinking in?
