Challenges like that happen up and down the country every week, i imagine Claridge himself has put in a few tasty ones in his time.

Jones was stoopid, thats all. He hardly touched him but got penalised for something that could have been nasty. Coppell will take it from here.

That challenge was not what I want to see on any football pitch. That sort of thing ends careers. It wasn't a case of the usual handbags after a dodgey decision etc. (believe me, I've seen enough of that recently, we used to have Robbie Savage play for us).

Maybe Jones did realise and did back off slightly, or maybe he didn't - in which case both players are damned lucky he missed.

Admittedly Claridge didn't wear shinpads, but notwithstanding that, he's entitled to his opinion and I'm inclined to agree that a simple 3 match ban is getting off lightly. You can get that these days for a slightly mistimed tackle. Keane got a 12 game ban for the events that came to light over the book and that Haaland tackle, so he was put in for an op in that time and united got a fitter player back shortly afterwards. I didn't like that either.

And yes, if a Leicester player makes a challenge like that this season I will expect him to be banned for longer, fined etc as well.

Very poor challenge. If he'd made contact and broke the guy's leg, then a year's ban would be fair enough. As it is there was no lasting damage (only Jones knows whether that was by luck or judgement), and 3 matches is enough.
The stupid thing is, its the ref who decides whether to give a penalty not the player, so its pointless taking it out on the opposition.
Oldham did similar on Saturday, making some stupid lunges at our players after we got the penalty.

No way should he have been sent off.

I laughed my arse off when Cuntidge said he had never considered making a tackle like that in his whole (shite) carrer!!
BOLLOCKS is what i have to say to that!

I was considereing a tackle like that on him then as he spoke! :salute:

3 games is enough. Jones shouldn’t have gone in like he did but the year suggested by Claridge is stupid and shows what a wanker Worzel Claridge is.

He was on “you’re on sky sports” earlier, did anyone see it and did he mention the Jones incident?
