Oxford University has become the latest of a number of bodies to ban applause and clapping in favour of jazz hands to avoid offending people and help people with anxiety issues. Is it time that sporting events followed suit with jazz hands used to denote respect and pleasure?

???

Jazz hands at the Amex? Brilliant! It would make an absolute killing for the club shop as they would sell thousands of Albion giant size foam hands with the middle finger prominent. Better still, the giant size foam hands could be designed as a clenched fist, a la wanker sign, for waving at the ref, opposition fans and Neil Warnock.

Really though, jazz hands at sporting events? What absolute bollocks. Whatever next - clackers?

Continuing the theme of absolute bollocks how about banning addressing an audience as ' Ladies & Gentlemen'.
