How great were those clapper things? The club has it's critics sometimes, me included, but these were inspired. Made what was likely to be a good atmosphere even better. :clap2::clap2::clap2::clap2::clap2:

Pointless, American style gimmick.

We have two hands for clapping with, no need to attempt to 'choreograph' the support with those things. People holding them up as the teams came out, while it looked impressive, meant that people weren't clapping because both arms were in use holding them, so surely counterproductive in that sense?

I hope we've seen the last of them.

I should say that was my initial view, BUT it certainly did add to the noise and in a ground that is not naturally designed for holding in noise that was a real plus. Would hate to see them a proper ground though, for the reasons you state.

Yeah but the lack of clapping wasn't noticed due to the vocals of the withdean crowd. I quite enjoyed the noise they made and would be happy for them to be at home games again.

Obviously I meant the sound of the 'clappers'...

If they were to make a regular appearance at Withdean, I'd most probably go deaf.

Yep, would do my nut if every week, but thought it was nice touch that added something today.

Confiscated it from both Giraffe Juniors though when they decided to use during Britains Got Talent!!

whereas you may as well have been deaf judging by the atmosphere during the previous games this season :jester:

I thought they were a good idea and definitely added to the atmosphere, even if they did make a sound like armpit farts

Did my nut in before the game, during the game couldnt distinguish the difference between them an hands. But ill stick to the hands myself, dont need clappers to make an atmosphere, its all about us.

And they doubled up as a fan to keep you cool. Great idea.

Thought they were shit when I arrived to find one but they helped the atmosphere as they made much more noise than a hand clap. ANYTHING that increases the volume at Withdean is ok by me. Might be a bit shit after 5 mins in heavy rain though

They do a weird thing at Tampa Bay Rays baseball. No idea why but people turn up with cow bells (and the club sell them). It makes a right racquet - but definitely adds to the atmos.

You get em at Wembley too most times, I thought they were a great idea and the family stand was loving it (to be fair, I prefer kids to have those clappers than horns!)

I personally thought they were rubbish. For the same cost, The Albion could've provided everyone with a head of out-of-date CELERY, CELERY!
