He'll learn from this, step back, come back together as a group and move on stronger having learned.

A night where the risks and rewards of Graham Potter's style were on display.

Chelsea looked to get forward at every opportunity, but Marc Cucurella and Raheem Sterling were both caught upfield for Salzburg's equaliser.

And try as the hosts might to get a winner, there was a lack of confidence in front of goal, which now leaves Potter's side with an uphill task to reach the knockout stages. It's AC Milan up next at home.

Don’t worry Chelsea fans!

Potter always saves his best performances for away games against the big boys. A win away in Milan is a banker.

"So there we have it - 25% of shots on target and probably 20% of those came in the last 10 mins. While it's understandable that things were not going to click straight away, 'Harry' did not pick his best 11 for a game that was a MUST WIN FFS. 'Harry' - this is not a league game over 38 games - it only 6 and we've already fucekd one of them up....maybe someone needs to tell him. God help us against AC in a few weeks"

"Don't sub your best player to keep in with the owners bringing on Pulisic, he doesn't score, my Betfred transaction history can prove it! For more stats see @HazardousChoice
We need Kante cause an unfit Kova and a sh*t Jack Grealish isn't the answer.
Maybe Tommy wasn't the problem and if he can't fix it, nor will a Brighton Manager.
Onwards and Downwards, gang!"

Looks like the average non-win match thread here tbh. Nothing new.

No. But what is new is that he's now got a high-profile billion pound team to mould into something useful - and he has to do it PDQ. Early indications, as most predicted, is that he will do well to be granted the time to do that in front of the entitled bunch of dicks who (it would appear) are already mildly embarrassed that they have got the "Brighton manager" in charge now.

GP + Chelsea FC are about as good a fit as a Boris Johnson suit.
