Sheringham is and always has been a different class to Kitson and I don't think this is as bad an idea as some make out.
Signing someone like that (preferably on a pay-as-you-play basis) could prove a very shrewd move as the crowds at Withdean have beed dwindling over the last 2 seasons. Another 1000 bums on seats per home game would pay his wages and we would easily manage this and possibly see a few full houses.

Add to that the shirt sales at £40 a go (lots of letters) and it would make commercial sense

I do think it would help season ticket sales if we got in a big name player but Sheri is not the answer. Just don't think he'd come here. Darren Currie on the other is a player people will pay to watch and a more realistic target.

Gazza was an intelligent footballer not so sure he's been that great as a coach.

I think it's a bad idea, how many games will he play and at what financial cost? Not sure it works out.

The suggestion about Forest is a good one as he used to play with Calderwood as well.

He is old yes but he has no shocking recent history of injuries and no signs that his body is starting to give up on him. Two years ago he was the best player on the pitch when we played West ham at withers, I would be delighted if we signed him but as pointed out above I'm pretty sure the money would be too much.
