Could end up like boxing which has the WBA, WBO, WBC, IBF...

Possibly, but think of the mouth-watering prospect of the FIFA World champions, Qatar, meeting the ICFFA (Independant Corruption Free Football Assocation) champions, Brazil, to unify the title!

Well, whilst I am prepared to believe anything could happen next in the FIFA scandel, the involvement of Molly Sugden really did stretch credibility!

Even more bizarrely, whilst looking on IMDB to satisfy myself that the pussy loving Molly wasn't on the cast list, I was amazed to find that Perry Digweed was!
Pezza was one of the prison guards!

I guess it is possible that the voting process could be declared null and void, under a legal challenge, if there were significant evidence to prove that the whole thing had been corrupted. If that happened then we might end up with the preferred option of Spain/Portugal and Australia.

Fixed your post for you. :)

This makes our FA's decision to abstain in the FIFA leadership contest unusually prescient. It seems we were the beggining of the end for the blazered pocket liners.:clap::clap:

Could be interesting if it is proved the finals were decided on bribes as most bidding nations spent a good £40-50 million on the process and will no doubt want to see that money refunded. I read that Australia are already making noises about this

Anybody who thinks along the same lines as David Davies and thinks that things might change now is being incredibly naive. These people are politicians and behave as politicians do. Its about horse trading and back scratching and always will be.
If Sepp Blatter was to be ousted the next man in would be just as big a cvnt.

Its Platini . . . . I was right.

and to think that we could EVER start the ball rolling by influencing other nations to maybe withdrawing from Fifa or putting some real pressure on the present leaders should remember just how cozy we actually are with all the others, seeing we got..... how many votes was it in our world cup bid ?

Blatter live on the tv right now...if that wasn't a besieged and guilt ridden man rolling out an over-sized carpet, under which to sweep the allegations, then I am a Chinaman!

All I can say is thank goodness that Ratko Mladic will be tried in the Hague and not by the FIFA Ethics Committee, otherwise he would probably get a healthy pension and spend the rest of his life on a Trinidadian beach sunning himself!

I heard a spokesman for FIFA state they could not delay the election despite the outstanding issues because it was always on that date, then the current chairman is cleared in one day, it just get worse.

This is like a flash-back to the times when communism was the order of the day in Eastern Europe, they had nominal elections with only one candidate and no visible or audible opposition.

Educate me here - what would happen if a few months before a World Cup, the hosts said "we're pulling out of FIFA because of corruption, all the teams that were due to play are still invited etc etc". It would be too late for anyone else to host, wouldn't many of the team's who had qualified just want to go ahead and say goodbye to FIFA?

In theory great idea. Sadly Brazil, Russia and Qatar are just as corrupt as FIFA!!

It might not be people from the 'football family' that have the clout to get FIFA to change but there was an article on one of the sites that said Coca Cola & Adidas were very upset at the situation. I'm sure the same is true of all the other major sponsors, who would be worried that their products would be damaged by association. The US Government also imposes massive penalties on companies found to be involved with corruption. When the big-money sponsors threaten to up and leave then this is only heading one way.

I think you'll find that something similar happened within the IOC after the Salt Lake City voter bribery incident.
