It's like when they didn't sell out in the cup Semi against us. Yes it's only Brighton, yes they had other big games coming up, yes a cup Semi isn't that big a deal for them. I totally understand all those reasons why some people couldn't be arsed with it. But the fact is that Man Utd / Liverpool / Spurs / Arsenal / Chelsea would have all sold out that allocation in the same circumstance, because for every fan that can't be arsed, there are 10 more that can. City just don't have the numbers that the rest of the Big Six do.
Anyone getting that complacent has lost their soul in my book. It's like not speaking to your kids properly anymore because they have bean around for quite a few years, you have seen all their funny little ways a million times, and you just expect them to get on with it. "You've drawn another picture? Great. Now bugger orf*". Or something.

*Apparently how Churchill treated his kids.

While there's obviously truth in that, I think it's fair to say that the fans of some clubs are worse than others. We've had our best ever season, so it's not sour grapes to point out that we've had more bad decisions against us this season than others. And our fans are often quite honest about failures being of our own making.

Regarding yesterday and Pep moaning, I don't know if it's because he's a serial pathetic twat when a game doesn't go his way, or him simply trying to keep his players confident in the lead up to their two finals. Maybe a bit of both. His players may have had a few drinks on Sunday, but so did ours. And we're the ones that had to field the most weakened team.

Yep. I wonder if this is a result of the internet and social media, where everyone can have their say and argue about politics with strangers, whereas in the past our opinions would stay with us or briefly pop out in a pub, but our views wouldn't become so entrenched.
Used to be the case that fringe lunatic nonsense was published in the local paper in the form of a letter by "Disgruntled of Sussex". Social media has taken that and made everyone their own editor of their own papers.

As it turns out we're all shit op-ed writers.

I loved it when....

They scored and all did that thing when fans turn their backs to the pitch and bounce up and down celebrating.

VAR DISALLOWED GOAL

North west corner of the North stand all turn their backs to the pitch and bounce up and down celebrating.

That was very funny.
I noticed 3 or 4 on the West side (where the empty unsold seats in their end were) ran straight over to the divide (mainly day tripping Albion fans) to give it large. I mean come on - you’re Manchester City and win every game… oh how I laughed when it was disallowed!

I know three long time City fans who have given up their season tickets and they have all told me they preferred being fans before the takeover, they have not been seduced by the money thrown at the club and do not like what it has become. Plenty would find that hard to believe, but I get it. Suffering is in their DNA :lolol:

I can totally believe it. It must be hard to have a certain identity and then watch it evaporate overnight and be part of someone else's experiment. Believe it or not, winning isn't everything.

That was brilliant. Full credit to the NW Corner.

Weirdly, I work with a city fan, genuine fan -she's from Manchester, and she tried all day to get tickets in the home and the away section and both clubs had sold out the entire time. She was really frustrated and therefore it was odd to see so many gaps in the city end.
Not sure why she left it to the day, but there were loads of single seats in the Albion end all day and all week. Not sure she’s told the truth there at all - unless it was all shown as grey as she had no purchase history etc in which case she was just being northern / stupid 🤣

Sorry - seen others have pointed it out. She needs to have read the terms for buying tickets in the Brighton end - you or someone (if STH) could’ve got her one easily of course. She can’t have been that desperate to go if she decided this all in the day of the game though 🤷🏻‍♂️👌

You seem to have a problem with our fans going mental celebrating how they want to. Wind your neck in and go for a ride on your bike. :moo:
Odd isn’t it. ‘Gurning’ means he thinks they were on something - not that it really matters or is his business 🤷🏻‍♂️ Just another cyclist assumption for people having fun 😜

It was a late decision to try to go and nothing wrong in that. She's been several times before but I'm sure isn't a member and at the time I thought it would have been available to anyone with purchase history but it seems 'bigger' games have different requirements. As I walked away I thought I could have offered to buy her tickets, but quite honestly, away fans often pee me off if they are nearby.

Your mistake been explained in a few posts.

John Stones was on the floor and the North Stand sung “ You’re just a shit Lewis Dunk”

Why would anyone sing “You’re just a shit Lewes Town” to Manchester City?
Also if you mean Lewes FC - they’re not called Lewes Town and never have been 🤷🏻‍♂️🤣

Because they were playing in red and black and we’ve got more time for Lewes than we have for Man City?

I’m really sorry I misheard your majesty.

A friend of mine was a big city fan, going back to the days of Bell, Lee and Summerbee. He was ecstatic about the winning and money to begin with but you could see a gradual erosion of his enthusiasm for city as every season passed. Winning and having all the best players money can buy became tedious for him.

He lived in Bristol for a bit and went to Rovers games whilst he was there, so that’s where he goes these days for his football fix. I’ve tried to talk to him about city but he simply says he doesn’t support them anymore he likes Bristol Rovers. I can’t ever imagine walking away from our club but there you go. I bet he’s not alone.

I can understand why City, Newcastle, Utd fans walk away.
I'd walk away from the Albion in the most unlikely event of us joining the blood stained arms race.

I can't ever imagine walking into the arms of another club.

Does he come from Manchester?
Also you mention he lived in Bristol for a bit and watched Rovers, does he travel far to watch Rovers now?

Not sure I could walk away from supporting the Albion, if I ever moved away I would probably watch a non league team but Albion would still be my team.

They have won the League..playing us on a weekday away at 8pm. Get back about 3am I thought a pretty good turnout from them.

I`ve no idea but if game had been at Manchester 8pm how many Brighton supporters would have gone ??
Thousands of Mancunians live in the south of England... 127 Brightonians live in the north. FACT
