What utter tosh.
Genuinely, the game didn’t matter to us - everyone loses games. Not being injured was the primary goal.
It says more that some here are spending soooo much time on the City forums, suggesting doubt. X10 men for x80 mins away from home and against dubious officiating ................awaiting the investigation into the betting irregularities now being investigated into Bloom and Atwell in Brighton’s last five games. Let’s see how cocky you are then
You realise the irony of this comment, right?
Talk of irregularities and investigation is absolutely, to put it bluntly, bat-shit crazy. The club has been in the bottom half of the league all season – flirting dangerously close to the relegation zone at times – and NO-ONE has had any evidence to even think that there might be foul play at work to get positive Brighton results. But now – at the point that we're safe in the PL for another season – we decide to play some dirty tricks? For what reason? To get one over on the Champions? Do me a favour!
Those decisions – like many over the course of a season – could've gone either way. Cancelo KNEW he was at risk of getting sent off when he made contact with Wellbeck. Just as Dunk did when he wiped out a Wolves player a couple of weeks ago. The penalty shouts (for both teams) fall very much into the 'I've seen them given' category, likewise the AJ tackle.
Bearing all that in mind, I'm not quite sure why *some* City fans have gone off on one so much. Is it because they are used to those decisions going for them? Is it because it is a #TeamLikeBrighton? Or is it because you think you have a right to not lose any game? What was the reaction of those same fans in your other defeats against 'lesser' sides this season, like Spurs and Leeds? We've beaten both of those this season too, if that makes any difference?
