Interesting that the old rabbit hutch West Stand was there then, I remember it in the 1950s. A clear view also of the chimney of the waterworks pumping station.
Looks like a load of push bikes just chucked on the ground on the right, one upside down (far right). I'm guessing the linesmen earned double wages for walking in front of the cars for the commute home, one going eastbound, the other going west.
The book of Brighton views this came had an estimated date 1910- 1912 - anyone any idea of when this photo could have been taken - I was thinking early 20s due to the car styles?
I used to own a print of this , mounted in a clip frame. There was another of the crowd resplendent in their flat caps, too . Sadly they got lost in our repeated house moves... I would like to have them now.
