There are better loans to be had and it wouldn't surprise me if this one was lower down on the list.

For the benefit of us that are not 'in the know' on these available loans the club could be signing up, please could you list these better players?

Christ I hope not. Would be curious to hear how many on here have actually seen Akpom play more than a couple times.

Saw him play against our U23's last season at the Amex, scored a hat-trick and ripped us to pieces, that being said, that night pretty much all the Arsenal players did, they were all bigger and stronger than our team.

Drives me mad. Some Brighton fans are never satisfied. I truly believe if we signed Messi somebody would complain that he is not good enough! At least give the boy a chance before writing him off!!

that would be dependant on our injury status, and when we can't afford for him to be rubbish. I am certain that hughton has got this right anyway because he cannot really afford to be wrong.

I assume you were just talking tongue in cheek, but if you were serious (saying "if he is rubbish we will be in the playoffs"), you're not being realistic. If we don't bring in anyone we will still probably be promoted. Obviously we hope we bring in someone decent to further improve our chances.

Hopefully SB will be back and Chuba Akpom will only be needed to come on for the last 20 mins to help seal a victory.

I'm not going to start listing names here else I would have done so already, as you know as well as I they will be picked apart. Suffice is to say at circa 11pm tomorrow evening you may see a handful of transfers/loans that may have been preferable.

An asinine point. Football is about opinions and mine is formed from watching him play quite a number of times. If you are expecting me to be one of those fans that is negative about him once he is here you are very mistaken, but whilst he remains at Arsenal i'll stick to my guns (no pun intended).

'Hopefully' we will be reliant on Akpom to play only 20 minutes for us, but those 20 minutes will be the deciding factor? Are you a sadist?!

If it happens, great. He is a handful up front by most accounts, and will be a welcome addition. Perfect, considering the competition in this transfer windows. Don'e really care about all 'the other options' that obviously have not happened for one reason or another. We may have got just what we need. Be happy.

I've said nothing about his 'stats' in this thread.

Duffy was the real deal and anybody who stated otherwise had clearly not watched him play, or was on the quite absurd bandwagon of calling him shit because he scored two own goals. These comparisons do my head in.

Plus, as Bob'n'Weave has mentioned, he's a perfect Baldock equivalent - pacy and will harry the opposition back line just as Baldock does. We all appreciate (well almost all) Baldock's value, despite his lowish goals return. If fit, Akpom will fit our style of play perfectly.
