I went into cash converters then put Camden as my local store then a search for Toshiba CB and it came up with one for £74.49. in Camden.about page 5.

You live in Camden?

BG a chromebook is kind of a dumbed down laptop. Pretty much requires you to be connected to wifi all the time and is best used for web browsing and using Google docs (their own version of Office).

But all he has said is that he'll use it for browsing and word. So what's the problem? Google docs can be used offline anyway.

I was told by mt gran as a young boy if, for whatever reason, you cannot contribute something to a conversation or argument just try to take the p..s, well she said mickey.
So 67 thousand posts are her fault!

Can I just clarify..? BG is a spoof account right? This is just a journalist/author who does this to generate amusing stories for a tech blog somewhere?

Why? Asking whether a Chromebook is suitable for his needs is a perfectly valid question. I've been asked it twice in the past year by people I know. I'm not sure why on earth you think it's the sort of request that a prankster would make.

I'd actually assumed it was either a spoof account or a bot running some sort of AI but have been assured it is a real person.

Well, I dunno if BG invested in one in the end, but after my 5 year old Lenovo laptop hard drive went on the fritz, I've taken the plunge with an Acer 15 Chromebook, and certainly not regretted it. Intel Pentium, 4GB RAM, 64GB storage, 15:6 full HD screen. Runs slicker than an otter smeared in swarfega. Like most of you I only use it for browsing NSC, general filth, YouTube, and some casual online stalking. For those purposes it ticks all the boxes. WHY did I bother with Windows PC's for so long ?

Lovely bit of kit.

Surely there is something better out there? Looking for a light weight laptop/notebook with a decent 5 hour battery.

You bought Acer? Oh dear. Maybe they've improved but as a rule I never go near Acer.

Like the idea that you can run Linux apps on it. The only thing I don't like the idea of is everything being online, can you save to external hard drive?

Just out of curiosity (not asking for a friend) how much did you pay?
