QI then, thats about it
This, Christmas Institute Lectures and Big Fat Quiz are all that appeal to me. I do like the lectures, even though they are for kids as they cover topics that a lot of adults don't know in detail.

About 3 things I would watch there. Mind you, it's all designed for bored commoners who'd rather watch television than talk to each other. Depressing.

Jesus Christ. I plan to be so pissed the entire festive period that I won't even realise what's on.

Worst thing there is "John Bishop Christmas Special". Four words to drown the soul.

I see the Christmas lectures are being presented by this Rachel Riley wannabe this year:

I love Christmas, but there's nothing to kill the buzz like the following:

Miranda
Mrs Browns Boys
Citizen Kahn.

All off them painfully unfunny. The only things from that list i'll definitely watch are QI, Dr Who, The Royal Insititute Christmas Lectures, Black Mirror and BFQOTY

Has there ever been a year (in the last 20 or so) that people don't say is dogshit?

I've long ago given up on the idea that Christmas TV is, or was ever, anything much special. It's obviously going to be a time when light entertainment takes over the networks, and the most popular shows (which are often amongst the crappest) get festive specials. It's a shame that the most popular comedies around now are the likes of Miranda and Mrs Brown, rather than Morecambe and Wise or Dads Army, but it's certainly not exclusive to Christmas, so nothing to be suprised about when the festive schedules are released.

The thing that is most missing nowadays is the interesting film/documentary seasons that used to happen which seem to be ignored nowadays.

Only disappointment is there is not a My Family Xmas Special although I know they've got all the old ones on between Xmas and New Year.
