It's funny: at the time I used to think these show were total crap, but you do kind of miss them. Perhaps it was the 'communal viewing' factor: you knew that about 75% of the nation was watching them at the same time.
I know what you mean. My parents couldn't stand the Two Ronnies, but we've been working through the box set.

Once we have finished eating everything in sight Mrs S will take her mother home, the kids will probably play 'Cards against humanity' and I will settle down with a decent single malt to watch Zulu on DVD
