Hopefully after a lovely roasted bird/nut roast depending on your persuasion you've left room for some pudding.....

After living in Denmark for years then it has to be (even managed to persuade my Mexican family of the wisdom of this) Risalamande. Basically rice pudding with whipped cream and a few other tasty things, includes a whole almond, which gets you an extra present (bit like the old sixpences in the christmas pudding of my childhood).

My mum is doing something called Ginger Grundy....a recipe that was given to her decades ago.

It's a ginger biscuit base with whipped cream, stem ginger and pineapple folded in

Probably one of the best desserts i've ever tasted

cheese board, but its a bit much to call this a pudding - its an hour-long affair to be undertaken when its a bit later at night, approx 9pm, and with a big old glass of port. Sweet things will feature on this cheese board - there'll be grapes, perhaps an eccles cake or two, maybe even a sliver or two of christmas cake (with a mature cheddar, WOOF) and will feature at least four cheeses, and a range of crackers.
it'll then be crowned by a delightful speyside. Tamdhu 15 this year, i believe, and some really good dark chocolate. Classic pairing, dark choc and a good whisky
