Uninspiring safety first choice. You may have been bored under oscar, wait till next season
Always hoped that we would be a club that didn't join that usual suspects merry go round.

When in the championship he has done it with ridiculously good squads and a truck load of parachute cash.

If Howe, Sherwood and Clement are not interested then he may get a look in.

For me a boring safe pair of hands that will guarnatee nothing more than a mid table finish.

You see that Newcastle team?

Still the same team that got relegated the year before. Many have tried, not all have succeeded. Then he got them to 12th in the prem before getting sacked, then got Birmingham into 4th and look at them now.....I'm not saying I want him, I'm just pointing out there is a lot worse out there.

Newcastle won this division with 90 goals scored, a gd of +55 and 102 points, hardly boring....Wouldn't be my first choice but we could do a lot worse. Knows this division and is very well respected within the game.

With a team containing Coloccini, Steven Taylor, Jose Enrique, Kevin Nolan, Joey Barton, Jonas Gutierrez and Andy Carroll.

Doesn't mean he wouldn't be a decent appointment, but I would argue any even half decent manager would have walked the Championship with that team.

EDIT: You just answered my point in your post above.

I think we can safely say Tony Bloom isn't an NSCer.
If he were, he'd have put an end to all this madness, by now.

There is a lot worse.

I'm just saying his style of football is as bad as Oscar.

Would rather have him than Oscar though. Here is the Newcastle team:

Newcastle
01 Harper
03 Jose Enrique
05 Hall (Kadar 83)
06 Williamson
12 Simpson
04 Nolan (Best 70)
07 Barton
08 Guthrie
10 Routledge
17 Smith
24 Carroll yellow card (Ameobi 70)
Substitutes
26 Krul, 16 Taylor, 28 Kadar, 21 Pancrate, 11 Lovenkrands, 20 Best, 23 Ameobi

Gutierrez injured

No to sherwood, no to houghton.
Steve Clarke, lots of contacts in the PL, very good with kids and a gritty character that we seem to need whenever the going gets tough ie, the play offs.
He would get us up.

I can understand the mixed reaction on here to Hughton.

It has been very painful watching Hughton on our regional sports coverage constantly defending his position. Sadly the knives were already out for him last Autumn after the signing of RVW looked a very costly error for a club trying to be very prudent in its spending.

However looking beyond this last season at Norwich he actually has a very respectable managerial record. I'm sure Hughton would do ok if he got the Albion job - but for some reason he doesn't get my juices going at the moment.

Not inspiring choice but could do ok with us . We have some good players who with a few additions would make us a real force , we've proven we can do the dull stuff well . Hughton could be steady but I don't think it needs drastic methods to get us to the next level ( top 5 from this year ) .

Howe and Sherwood better but much much worse appointments could be made . If sorted early then no reason not to be optimistic about next season

Brother Henry played for CPFC and effectively ended Gerry Ryan's career with a horrendous tackle I do believe......
Although, his record in this div is outstanding, and I would not be handing back my ST, should he be 'the chosen one'
