This was of course in the days of only one sub. As I remember it Gerry Ryan had to come on and play at Right back for us. Was that correct? Got to have been a disadvantage to us. So I have no doubt Whiteside did cause us a a major disadvantage. That said we should have won……………..

Gerry Ryan had a fine game but I can't help thinking that Chris Ramsey wouldn't have been outmuscled by the waif-like Arnold Muhren before the Dutchman supplied the diagonal ball for Wilkins to scorer that curler.
