Its not the different view, its that people are ready to write off a new player before he's even signed, and if he pops onto nsc anytime soon, he might just think, not sure o want to play for that lot.

Oh you don't think he'll be on nsc?
Remember snoopy? Maybe before your time, not sure, but snoopy was a regular on here.... until we sold him to Barnsley, where he would have been ateam mate of O'Grady
Pretty sure most people knew Snoopy was Craig Davies. All players are advised to stay away from fan based media sites such as NSC as the content can vary.
What I can't quite grasp is those that are unimpressed are not allowed to say so on here without being abused etc. What's to say they're wrong and those that think he's a great signing have got it wrong? It's just people having their say, no need for people to get so shit*y about it.

You lads mocking him, or feeling underwhelmed about his potential arrival, will be quickly won over by COGba. Yes, COGba.

I won't bother giving you a proper detailed opinion on him, his strengths/weaknesses etc, because I'm not convinced he'll agree terms. Not because I think he'll stay with us, as I know full well he won't do and frankly, I'm in the BFC camp of supporter who'd like him to go. But again, not because I don't rate him (I rate him very highly) but because we need to cash in so as to continue rebuilding our own squad.

If however, he does sign for you, I'll be back to give you the lowdown on him and perhaps a video montage of his BFC career.

But trust me on this, he's so much better than a lot of you are expecting.

How quick / strong / good in air / hold up play ?

Have to say O Grady has always impressed me whenever I've seen him play. The game that most sticks in my mind was when he was at Rochdale and we played them away a few seasons ago under Gus. Worked hard looked very powerful on the turn and a nuisance for defenders. He seemed to stick his a*se out a lot and shrug defenders off well before getting his shot off. Not saying he is a world beater but definitely not a bad option in the squad when you look at the lack of depth we've had compared to other Championship teams in the last couple of seasons. If we get for between 500k and 750k that's good business.

As the Barnsley fan suggests And per Charlton boards he couldn't agree terms with them and wanted anywhere between 10-15k a week.

Therefore this one could get embarrassing for us very quickly I would imagine !!

I'm with HKFC on this one, I believe that in some ways he is a Leo replacement but only in the sense that he fills that "Big lad" role. I think the style will change slightly under Hyypia and if the friendlies are anything to go by, then this will suit CMS more than Leo. One or two attackers still to come in I'm hoping.
Almost word for word what I said several pages back!

Thanks for this. Ignore a lot of what people say on here. Some would moan even if we signed Messi or Ronaldo.

Out of interest, why are you not convinced he'll agree terms? Is it down to money or location (as I saw somewhere he was interested in staying in the north)?

There was a time when a Championship side picking off the best players of a relegated side was seen as the norm and the right thing to do. It's sad that people on this board only get excited if we sign a totally unproven Spaniard, but then moan when we sign a proven Championship striker.

Agree, was at Rochdale game as well and he caused us trouble all game, just because he's playing for Barnsley doesn't make him shite. (This is the point when I say "no disrespect to Barnsley")

You'd have to laugh if he turned us down after some of the comments on this thread. Doesn't sound that unlikely either given how other players have chosen teams to be perceived tinpot in preference to us recently. Bournemouth and Millwall spring to mind.

Only eleven players scored more goals than him last season. All eleven were playing for teams in the top half of the table with the exception of McCormack.

He is the only player to score 15 or more in a Championship relegated side last season.

What's not to like?

Messi, Naymar, and Suarez rolled into one, isn't as good as some of our lot are expecting.
