Refreshingly honest for someone in his situation in his interview, I really hope it works out for him here.

I'm glad he found the chanting supportive, I know some of the songs were sarcastic but ultimately I don't think there is a Brighton fan that doesn't want him to do well.

I feel for the bloke, it's a good interview - and we should definitely get behind him, especially as we need him at the moment.

However, he isn't good enough, he's just not a Championship quality striker... but that's not to say that he can't be useful during our relegation scrap - he certainly has my support.

".....he's just not a Championship quality striker" - seems a little unfair given that he scored 15 goals last year for a dire Barnsley side. If you listened to the interview properly you may have heard him say that the previous manager's game didn't suit his style and I think that's fair comment. Let's just see how he gets on over the rest of the season (if he stays) before rushing to premature conclusions.

For all we know, under the circumstances, another manager might have also sent him out on loan to get match fit. That on top of fans and the press getting on his back probably didn’t really help him either.

It’s too easy to suggest that Sami misused him because there are many factors at play, but the main thing is that the loan worked well and he has come back stronger. We could just as easily credit Sami for the decision to loan him out while we had Bent, which everyone was more than happy with at the time.

Ha! Fair play, that clearly doesn't fit in with my desire to blame Sami for everything.

What an honest and refreshing interview - that's not from the media trained monotone crap that normally gets spouted after every match these days! Hope he gets some more game time and the continued support from the fans at the next home game. Could turn out to be a really good player given the right coaching and tactics, I think Baldock just playing off him could be an awesome partnership.

I think that's brilliant. He may not always have looked the best during his rare appearances under Hyypia, but he's always struck me as an honest, hard working sort who gives everything for the team. He's the sort of player you absolutely will to succeed, and I'd love to see him push on and make a contribution now.

That period during the second half when he appeared and the lower tier spent virtually the entire time singing O'Grady songs was superb. I was a bit worried they might have come across as taking the piss (thank god the renditions of "How shit must you be...." were saved for the station and not the ground itself), but hopefully he got the right message from us all.

From what I've seen today and at Craven Cottage, O'Grady has more right to a place in the starting XI at Charlton next week than Mackail-Smith does. A cult hero in the making. Let's keep up the support at the Valley and see what happens.

Because last season was the first time he's really scored at Championship level, and Barnsley got relegated. I guess he wanted to carry on at the highest level possible. He certainly doesn't come across as the money-obsessed type, you've only got to look at that interview to realise playing football is what he loves.

Agree that he and Baldock might be one to watch. There were a couple of nice lay offs from him to Baldock today, and at the time I remember thinking there hadn't been any signs whatsoever of Baldock & Mackail-Smith working as a partnership, yet within a few minutes of arriving on the pitch, COG and Baldock were making runs for each other.

So, surely after another match turning performance from CoG, it's up to CH to put an arm around the man, tell him he's starting in the next game, he's wanted and part of his future plans. After all, he was signed because he could add to our team.
