If thats what you guys call a hell of a beating then you are very easily pleased.

We are easily pleased because we are modest. We have been to the depths and survived.
You learn not to be arrogant.

It may take Leeds a bit longer to learn that lesson ;)

A win is a win is a win.

I totally agree that, however we do it, a win is something to be congratulated.

Bugger. I just wish we could have scored more goals than Leeds. That's what I would have called giving them a hell of a beating.

Hold on ...

We were beaten 5-0, 6-1 and 4-1 on a near week in week out basis last season that to us is a hell of a beating. A 1-0 isn't quite that.

Yes but you werent playing Brighton and Hove Albion then, were you.

From a brighton fans point of view, just being in the same league as Leeds United is amazing, let alone beating em!!

Great result! :p

Aye, fair play to you all!

Tis all a little surreal to have gone from the Bernabau, Nou Camp etc to the Withdean in three short years, ah well. The joys of being a football fan, eh. Though Leeds don't seem to play much football so not sure I even qualify as a footie fan anymore ;)

Why, thank you! Just wish Leeds Utd football team had turned up yesterday, not sure what those eleven men in the light blue shirts were doing masquerading around on the pitch but it sure wasn't playing football.

It was a pretty dismal day out yesterday on both the footballing front, the fact we got soaked and also that Brighton police took us on an hour and a half wander around the suburbs of Brighton for no apparant reason!

Ah well! Shall look forward to your lot coming up to Elland Road in Feb.

No one was suggesting that 1-0 is a hell of a beating, it was a take on that Norway commentator who said "Maggie Thatcher, Winston Churchill etc etc your boys took a hell of a beating". One of the most famous commentating quotes in footballing history. Keep up.

Oh, I know what the 'quote' is from, just don't think it is appropriate in this situation. How can you call 1-0 a hell of a beating, you beat us, and we were poor, I'm not going to make reason or excuse beacuse there are none, we were beaten by a team who wanted three points more than we did, but to use "one hell of a beating" to describe what was a poor game is a little egotistical, no?

Depends on your perspective. From our point of view you took a 'hell of a beating' because you expected to win. And Leeds are arrogant.

From your perspective it was obviously only a minor disappointment. Which was why is was so funny to see your players lose it and get sent off.

Youll be having a donkey derby at Sheff. Wednesday next season if you dont go careful.

Btw to be pedantic and to help Starry out, the Yorkshire Ripper is nothing to do with Leeds as he came from Bradford.

I am taking time off work to visit Elland Rd in February and looking forward to more of the same from our lads if not better ;)

I never expected us to win, if you look at my posts on here pre game I said I expected Brighton to win. I watch Leeds week in week out, and not one of our fans that I speak to expect us to win. We can't score, we couldn't score in a brothel and you gotta score to win.

I see Leeds players sent off frequently, we have had one of the worst discip. records season after season, not something to be proud of but nothing new to us.

Listen. We all know that 1-0 is rarely if ever a hell of a beating. But we thought we'd use that phrase because it's FUNNY. We have a sense of HUMOUR, we Brighton fans.

And I'm a Leeds fan. and believe me we've bene shafted as well and have to have a sense of humour, you saw our shower of sh!te yesterday, it's a shame we were without the One Man Comedy Show that is Duberry, watching that lot makes sure you have a sense of humour!

Yorkie - don't make too many plan for Elland Road we'll have probably been evicted or sold it by then ;) And if not, shall looking forward to seeing your lot up there. Correct me if I am wrong, but you don't have a huge away fan base do you? I don't mean that critically, but as a genuine question.

'Tis also surreal going from places like Gay Meadow, Brisbane Road, Waddon Road etc to the Stadium of Light, Elland Road, and Upton Park in four short years...., oh and the Millennium Stadium just for good measure.

Different experiences and different joys!!

If it was a Saturday game then we would probably have brought 2000 or so but as it's a Tuesday night in February then we will be lucky to bring 800 or so.

I am saving half a day's holiday for it and staying over at Mum in laws. I want to go to Elland Rd once more

Yeah. It's often easier to get tickets for away games than home games, for obvious reasons.

It's midweek, so that'll bring the numbers down a little. It'd be nice to take 1000 up there (or down there, in my case. I live quite a way north of Leeds).
