From another thread, I noticed a myth developing that Chris McPhee was prolific/successful in our last spell in League 1.

He scored 4 goals.

He couldnt even cut it then.

Looked good for 45 mins up front with Jake at Burnley last season, that's about it really from what I've seen.

A bit like Robinson?

Jakey to me looks low on confidence, and his movement is superb.... just needs to bang a few in for the reserves to get his confidence back.

Also Robinson when on loan to Aldershot scored goals and pulled defences apart.... McPhee was constantly subbed and landed up on the bench

Robinson at present reminds me of Stuart Barlow, fast and good enough on the ball, but a bit of a jigsaw.

4 goals - are you sure??
I seem to remember him starting the season really well when we were in div 1. Scored the cup winner against brizzle rovers with a lovelly goal and seemed a good 'foil' for a little striker.
I've hardly seen enough of him recently but he is a player who can actually hold the ball up and so i'd like to see him given a few games to see how he works with CKR, robinson et al.

As said before i think he has some of the attributes to be a decent striker, but is bit too slight at the moment

Have to agree. Why not give him a go? He was coming back from injury at Aldershot and had good games aginst Cardiff and Derby. Didn't look like scoring but who knows with a run in the side. Certainly holds the ball up well.

At work - probably
he scored 4 in the league - but 9 in total including Coca Cola Cup/Fa Cup etc. I thought at the time he was going to cut it particular when he scored that overhead kick Bristol Rovers and the two goals against sheffield wednesday - but alas he hasn't (so far?!)

Being able to hold the ball up is more than any of the others can do at the moment, so he has to be in with a shout of playing again soon

He didn't get much of a look in after Mcghee arrived and then he had a long injury lay-off if I remember correctly.

From 5 starts and 12 sub appearances.

Yep in pre-season. shame as he was trying to get mega-fit with loads of running and weights etc

Actually I think I mis-read it. It may be 17 starts and 12 sub appearances. Not completely sure.

yep it was.

Sorry,I was just as behind McPhee at the time, I remember his great contribution against Blackpool in Coppell's final game in charge.

I was one of the ones who wanted him to come on every week to replace the disappointing Henderson(how players change :nono: )

It just all went a bit downhill after that.

I personally think if the right coach got hold of McPhee you might see a Henderson like renaissance.

Ten out of 10 for effort. 0 out of 10 for ability. Maybe give him a go next season if we go down, but he shouldn't be anywhere near a Championship first team I'm afraid.
