Not sure I’d agree. Hyypia was obviously a huge failure but the chairman and staff around were decent with a clear plan
I wouldn't say it was a basket case either, but it was more an idea, vision and plan in the making than the sorted structured and ( in the case of Lancing) built substructure of a roots up club that Hairy Porter walked into CH was a significant part of that process.
I've no idea what's behind the first team @ Forest but it doesn't appear to be anything like BHA now or even 6 years ago

Maybe not a basket case but Tony wasn’t happy. We got rid of Burke at the same time as Hyypia. Tony clearly wasn’t happy with the recruitment that season and publicly said Paul Winstanley would now be working closely with the new manager as soon as he was appointed to identify new players. By March 2015 the club had overhauled the recruitment and scouting team which was now head by Winstanley.

All based on supposition, as is usually the case on here. How do we really know what goes on behind the scenes at any club, including our own?
For all that we know many of those involved at Forest, and pulling the strings, are decent people too If the team simply isn't good enough on the pitch, it doesn't necessarily mean that the entire club is a basket case.

Hughton is their 9th manager in 5 years.

I know for a fact that CH turned down a 'bigger' club in the same division recently because he wanted to be loyal to Forest. It will be unfortunate if his loyalty is repaid with the sack.

If he turned them down he must have spoken with them. Perhaps it just wasn’t a good enough offer ?

He could have turned down the chance to speak to other teams, it doesn’t have to have gone to the offer stage for him to have said thanks but no thanks I want to remain loyal to Forest at the moment.
Sounds like a shite decision considering Nottingham are sacking people for fun

Becoming more and more prevalent in football now unfortunately, our opponents tomorrow have a history of it too.
He conceded a soft goal against Coventry but since Hughtons been there and the games I’ve seen he has shown some class.
Ok seems to be at fault for a number, but I’ve only seen highlights admittedly. All opinions

I was told that an agent let him know that the other club wanted to talk to him about taking over but it didn't get that far because he he preferred to be loyal to Forest. So he turned down the chance to speak to them, which I suppose amounts to the same thing.

Mowbray's comments after the Forest / Blackburn game were revealing - he said (paraphrasing here) that last season Forest were a team of experienced players, this season they are a team of kids.
Nothing worse than having a young and relatively inexperienced squad that lacks some quality when you are trying to get results against better teams. They have lost to three teams that are just simply better than them at the moment and if Forest don't bring in 3/4 decent signings this week they are in for a very long season (with a distinct prospect of CH being sack by their fickle owner).

If he leaves Forest I would like to see him manage a league 1 or 2 club that has potential and a good board and see what he can do as his experience would be very valuable to a lower league club.
For instance, Ryan Lowe is doing a decent job at Plymouth, but if he were to leave, Chris would be perfect for them.
A decent ground, a good fan base and very loyal supporters, a very good chairman and board who have sorted out the finances.
Training facilities are not much cop though.
Chris could put a club like Plymouth back in The Championship where they belong.
Given the volume of misinformation that circulates around football then quite likely.
Fact is he's still at Forest and (reading the preceding posts) he's got bugger all to work with. I can't see him getting the 'dream' job (which I assume would be Championship promotion challenger with the finances to seriously contend). Could be wrong I guess
