Murray is good enough to beat most in the world but not the three ahead of him in the rankings. They are another class better.
Like Henman he will get limited opportunities at the Slams. When Sampras was going over the hill, Henman had his narrow window of opportunity before the new young guns matured. He blew it, losing a Wimbledon Semi to Ivanesavic, he should have won.
Murray is going to have to suffer a lot of late stage defeats in Slams, with Nadal and Djokavic around for a few years yet and Federer still not finished.
He will have to rely on others to do it for him and a whole heap of luck as well.
It is no discredit to be four in the world. Just three problems....in front of him. One all time great...one, who will be an all time great and another, with the ability to become one. Does he have the potential?
