You were beeping the horn every 2 minutes then up your way.

True, but :)would not be heard tho over the the sound of the emergency services sirens responding to yet another town burning riot.

I hate kids in pubs! I once ordered a round of six drinks standing at the bar. They were placed on a tray. I paid. Stepping backwards no more than a foot a child was behind me. I staggered, drinks everywhere, carpet and kid soaked. Did the parents pay for the new drinks. Did they 'Effff', they in turn demanded I pay for dry cleaning their kids clothes! Sense of entitlement and arrogance and the threat of violence was astounding! I raised kids I know what I am talking about. Todays parents (sometimes) are the pits.

I never took my kids to the pub but to parks and stuff. I see no reason to take kids to the pub at all. Sorry but I just dont see it.

Three pushchairs all lined up in Brewdog the other day stopping me getting to the bar from my table. Bye bye Brewdog.

Well that and reserved tables..... F uck off.

Don't give up with Brewdog mate, I only live a minute away, love to pop around and have a swift one with you when you're in town. Just push them (the ideas in the name) outside.

If I can take my kids into the local crack den then why shouldn't I be able to take them into the pub as well?

A mix of pubs with different policies would be good. Some not allowing kids at all, some allowing them until a certain time (like 8pm), some with live music and some without. Then we can choose which pub to go to. The kids should never be running a mock, but that goes for restaurants too.

Amok. Just saying.

And quite rightly too. Getting words completely wrong should not be tolerated.

Is this the old farts thread or what?

Back in my day... Jeez, the world has moved on, we're more European now don't you know ;)

In all seriousness there are stacks of pubs that still don't allow kids so just visit one of those if that's your preference. Personally I like the fact that just because I have kids now doesn't mean I have to stop socialising with friends and family in a pub. And let's be honest, given the current rate of pub closures, how many would have closed before now if they were losing out on this 'family' custom thereby depriving you of them anyway...

Yes, there are a couple in Poets Corner that do resemble a creche at times but even then the owners have invested in another 'adults only' pub for those that would prefer a quiet beer in the company of fellow beer drinkers...

I like the fact that I can take my kids to the pub with me.

Might as well have written 'fxxk everybody else'.

Back in the 80's I lived in West London and one Saturday lunchtime I was in an awful place called West Drayton.
In the high street was a pub so I popped in for a pint.
This pub allowed kids in but the problem was that in the bar was a succession of strippers dancing around and doing very naughty things on the carpet. All the mums and kids were outside in a grotty garden but some still came in to use the toilet to see all the dads at the bar letching at the girls who were inserting paraphernalia into their persons.

West Drayton you say? Name of pub? Not that I have any inclination of going there of course...
