I'm not often out that way but if I am, I've made a mental note of the recommendations.

There should be some sort of NSC good pub/food guide

Does anyone remember The Fleece in East Sreet?

Nope definately before my time, although I remember the Hogs Head (now Trents) in South Street, the Eastgate is still good (The Hornet, just off of East Street and near the Nags Head), the Hole in the wall is still there but not particularly busy. The Park Tavern is also good as well as the Geroge and Dragon.

Here you go Gullsworth - I think it was The Royal Arms Public House but was always called the Punch House

Look at this link Heritage Explorer - Result Detail

Correct.......no-one ever called it the Royal Arms in my Chichester drinking days.
The Old Cross is not the pub it used to be,but I like the George and Dragon and the Park Tavern.
Still no night club for the youngsters in Chichester and although I still like the place,it does appear to be run by old farts for the benefit of old farts, despite there being a thriving college and uni in the city.

Your not wrong, it does appear to be run by old farts, but I think the pub culture started going down hill when they opened the Chichester Gate (cinema complex) which I think contributed to the closure of The Punch House...
