What happened to Bury was awful, but at least some good has come from that situation for these guys, would love to see them make the third round and get Man City or Liverpool.

Would be great to see Chichester reach the third round, and then get an away day at the Amex - big pay day and a Sussex derby.

My guess is they'll donate the difference between the winners and losers reward.

I'll certainly be rooting for the WEST Sussex side in the seasons cup.

Interesting it took a non league club with hardly any resources to donate something towards Bury FC , why on earth couldn't the 20 Premier League Clubs donate 5% of their weekends gate receipts towards saving them before the inevitable happened , i don't buy the answers given by the football league as to why they let a club die , iv'e no doubt whatsoever if it were Man Utd in the same position something would have been done to save them .

Well done to Chichester City FC for doing what others should have done a long time ago , even if that meant they did have to play in the first round :) .

Because why should they? Why should they bail out a club which would need a further bail out anyway, somewhere down the line? Clubs are responsible for themselves and it's not the fault of a Premier League club that Bury were so poorly run and have gone to the wall. Even last season they were overspending in order to be successful on the pitch. The reality is they're responsible for themselves.

Chichester shouldn't feel obliged to donate any of the cash. They're a football club, but they're also a business with a responsibility to their staff and their community to cut their cloth appropriately to sustain their existence.

Isn't the money normally split 50-50 between both the teams? In which case, maybe 50% to Bury?

OK - is it the gate receipts that are shared?

Wouldn`t Chichester have more of an affinity with Pompey than the Albion, probably closer and used to be a lot of Pompey fans in that part of West Sussex?

Indeed - you rarely see an Albion shirt in Chichester, while Pompey shirts are everywhere. By contrast, Albion In The Community are very active in the area, running very successful football schools for youngsters at primary schools and the University.

Up until the 3rd Round Proper, gate receipts are split 50/50, less expenses. From the 3rd Round Proper onwards The FA and the prize fund get a cut, so it's around 45/45 to the clubs, less expenses. Replays, the semis and the final are bit different. The good exception is though that any non-league club that gets to the Holy Grail of the 3rd Round Proper still gets 50%.

Chi is very much Pompey, even with our recent elevation into the Premier league I think there's me and about half a dozen others. Oh, and the usual selection of southern reds and plastic mancs.

This is Manish yesterday telling us that this was the biggest non-League win at a League club since 1973. Fortunately, he didn't mention the clubs involved :)
Of course, Clough's men wouldn't have dared to go on strike... https://nortr3nixy.nimpr.uk/showthread.php?376346-Update-Macclesfield-Town
