Played 10 matches in League One this season and haven't scored a single goal! (Only one goal in 12 in all competitions). Talk about a barren run... They are playing Fleetwood who are second bottom tonight. Surely they'll find the onion bag?

Whenever I look at our fixture list these days, the thought that always goes through my head is "wow, doesn't feel that long ago when we were playing teams like Cheltenham Town". Maybe we will again one day ...

I remember going there - can't remember which season though. Pretty sure we lost.

We went two seasons in a row. Think we drew 1-1 in one and lost 2-1 in the other. There was a little spell where due to cup draws, replays etc, we seemed to play them about 6 times in about 18 months.

Pretty sure Steven f***ing Gillespie scored in every last one of them!

For sure we will one day, never take success for granted, it can be only fleeting. I'm loving the run we are on, but l know it won't last forever.

Can remember playing them at home at Withdean, twice in one season l think, one in the league & the other in one of the cups if memory serves.

Two things about Cheltenham.

We played them in the last game of the season away in (I think) 2007. A day notable for @El Presidente arriving dressed as The Only Gay in Brighton, @Carrot Cruncher dressed as a German porn star and @Arthur not making kick off at all. To this day I can't remember the score without looking it up. I know we 'gently' teased a Gloucestershire based Leeds fan on the way home though.

Secondly, I played against one of their academy players while on an activity holiday at The Manor House in Devon, where there is a daily 5 - a -side with sessions split between under 13s and over 13s. Even though he was about four foot nine and twelve years old he played with the adults and no one could lay a boot on him. I mis-timed a tackle by what felt like days, booting his shin. 'Sorry mate, I was a bit late there' I said (or words to that effect). 'I know' he grinned and slammed the resulting free kick into the corner of the five a side goal. And THAT, people, is how much better players with only an outside chance of a pro contract at a shit League One club are.

I believe Cam Peupion is at Cheltenham at the moment but doesn't seem to be playing. Surely he'd get them a goal or two?

Will Cam Peupion be the man to end the drought?

Looks like he's made a few appearances but not sure if they've been starts or minutes off the bench. Just asked my man in Cheltenham for an update.

Having checked, I wasn't far off - we actually played them NINE times in 2 years, between Dec 2006 and January 2009!

In 2007/08, we played them five times, including an incredible THREE TIMES IN TEN DAYS in November...

10.11.07 Cheltenham 1 - 1 Albion (FA Cup)

14.11.07 Albion 4-1 Cheltenham (JPT)

20.11.07 Albion 2-1 Cheltenham (FA Cup replay)

Mate of mine co-owned the Concorde at the time and Stiff Little Fingers played the night before. We'd been there all afternoon watching them sound check and "helping" setting up the bar (by sampling most of it). I ended up kicking on all the way through so come 3pm the following day having a kip in the park listening to the jazz festival was far more appealing. I ended up falling asleep with my hands behind my head and got sunburnt on the inside of my arms.

That was also the game we met a lad who used to post on here under the name Strike (dunno if he still posts or not. I know he is still around as I've bumped into him a few times when he's been groundhopping) as we had a spare train ticket so he travelled down with us. When we got to the first pub he went into the toilet and came out dressed as a woman.....you can take the boy out of Brighton and all that

Steven Gillespie is one of the first ‘played well against us so I suggest we sign him’ players of that classic NSCism that I can remember.

I recall heading down there for one game and we got stuck for ages on the A40 just outside of Oxford. We then managed to get behind Dick Knight in his Porsche and my little Corsa SRi did its best to keep up with him as we desperately tried to make up time. As we got to the ground, while Dick disappeared into the car park, a resident pulled out of their parking space so we managed to park really close by pure fluke.

The game kicked off a few minutes late so we didn't miss anything - I'm still convinced that they managed to persuade the ref to hang on a few minutes so our Chairman didn't miss the kick off.

I’ve lived here for 12 years now and will be going to my first CTFC game of the season tonight - surely….surely I bring a goal along!

My first visit (2001 I think?) was the game the burger bar caught fire. That wasn’t so much of an away end then, more a few steps and a tiny roof. They’re record against us at home was pretty decent I believe

Cannot remember the season, but Chelnam were 2-0 up at78 mins and belting out “taxi for McGhee(?)” but we got two for the draw. We could well play them in the undefined future, but I doubt I’ll go.
