August 4th we are away to Dagenham & Redbridge. August 10th or 11th is set aside for a possible home or away friendly. Strange as 10th is a Friday..
Keipers testimonial is the 7th.

This is a good example of where ditchy should get an official (moderator awarded) star or something next to his name to give him credibility for any future rumours.

Great idea, and would weed out the fishermen. Bozza?

Er...didn't we have that with the green squares of righteous justice? That descended into a farce of people anonymously slagging each other off and some trying their best to go 'full red'.

I find it easier just to remember who was right (nice one OP) and who doesn't.

To be awarded by the moderators, not other users, is Notter's suggestion.

I think they could also be given by one random poster of the day...a bit like a 'well done for not talking utter sh**, here are some stars to hand out' award.

OK i am gonna cut to the chase...i want a star as i havn't had one since 1987. No one makes me feel special anymore....

Wasn't it you who spotted Vicente at Hove station recently?

Yes, its starting to look like i wasn't hallucinating, especially if you add the 3 separate posters from today and the nursery story from Wilko.

That's worth a gold star, as it started me believing before Wilko posted.

I find it a shame that the club entrusts their staff, business partners, etc with confidential information that they need to confirm, plan an announcement, etc then someone tells someone and it gets posted on here. Ok we all like people to think/know we are in the know but why are people intent on breaching the club's trust.

Here, there and everywhere
This is from Chelsea's website. Amazing to think our last competitive game against them was over 23 years ago.

SOUTH COAST PRE-SEASON VISIT ANNOUNCED

Chelsea will play a pre-season fixture away against Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday 4 August, kick-off 3pm.

The match takes place on the weekend between the end of the club's tour of the United States and the Community Shield game against Manchester City at Villa Park.

Capacity at Brighton's Amex Stadium will be limited to 18,000 for the visit by Chelsea due to expansion works there. Visiting supporters will be housed in the West Stand upper tier. Ticket details will be announced in due course.

Brighton finished 10th in the Championship last season having been promoted the previous campaign under the management of former Chelsea player Gustavo Poyet.

Playing alongside Roberto Di Matteo, the Uruguayan was a prolific midfielder during his time at Stamford Bridge, scoring 49 goals in 145 appearances between 1997 and 2001.

He joined the Seagulls as manager in November 2009 having previously been an assistant at Tottenham, Leeds and Swindon.

Brighton moved to their new stadium for the start of last season. Chelsea's last competitive game against them was at the Goldstone Ground in the old Second Division in March 1989. We won 1-0 with Kevin Wilson the goalscorer.

The current Brighton squad contains Chelsea Academy products Liam Bridcutt, Ben Sampayo and Anton Rodgers, son of our former youth and reserve manager and new Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers.
