Not suicide football for starters. If it wasn’t for Sanchez being shit we lose 4-0 and it could have been more.
And if it wasn't for Sanchez making two worldie saves, we draw 4-4 and it could have been more. So what's your point agenda? Do you really think Baleba's goal was because Sanchez was shit - he came out and spread himself and did all a GK could do (unfortunately, it worked for Bailey in 1983, but generally it doesn't if the attacking player gets it spot on).

Aside from NSC opinions, Sanchez blunders were key to both their goals conceded.

Is he? Made a couple of bad mistakes - made up for it second half.
You are joking aren't you? He is a liability and has been for a long time.

Because of the time zones I have just finished watching a replay of it. Based on the wailing on here I was expecting the worst. But for the most part the high line worked - none of the goals were because of it: two of their goals were from individual bad errors (Webster and Estupinan), one was a soft penalty (Mitoma was "fouled" outside the box in the same manner and nothing given).
We could have had another two or three bar some big saves from Sanchez.

It just seemed like one of those crazy halves of soccer that happen sometimes and not nearly half as bad as people seem to be making out.

Still, at least Sir Gareth Southgate got it right in the summer not starting Palmer for England. It's not as if he's any good or anything.

Palmer will never have an easier game than today. 45 minutes toying with a team in the wrong half.

Our Euros opponents did the exact opposite, defending deep in big numbers, working as a unit.

Quite understandably, all the praise for Palmer on MOTM. "Everything about him is just effortless" - Theo Walcott.

As for Albion, nothing. In fairness, Shearer said everything about the high line 6 days ago on MOTD2.

For now at least, it's still valid criticism that outweighs everything else.

The high line thing...
It isn't about whether goals were scored directly from it it's about the pressure it creates. We weren't pressing effectively. Palmer hit the post from a high line and after that it was carnage.
Pressure equals chances, mistakes, goals.

One of the issues and worries with the high press is the lack of pace in defence. The Chelsea forwards were well marked but simply raced away.

Palmer will find a way to affect games whoever he’s playing against.

He did every time in his limited minutes during the Euros (including an assist in the semi and goal in the final).

England need to build the team around him. He’s quickly established himself as our best and most consistent player.
