I sometimes find it comical when people say the Premier League is the "best league in the world" when the refereeing is so, so bad.
I think it's the best, and most competitive top flight league. But the current referees are atrocious and shouldn't be anywhere near this league.

The leagues call for respect, but at some point they need to understand, you cant respect incompetence.

Didn’t see the incident properly. Did the ref award a penalty and then VAR overturn it? If so, did the ref really award the penalty quickly enough that the ball hadn’t gone out for a corner by the time he blew his whistle?

If the above is how it happened, I get that the rules have been followed properly but still it seems massively unfair to not get the corner.
Apparently if VAR overturn a refs onfield decision the game has to be restarted with a drop ball so although he gave the penalty after the ball had gone off the pitch we couldn't get the corner. So the ref f***ed us over with his shit penalty call! Sometimes you just cant get a break...

f***ed up refereeing is so much the norm now that I just feel apathetic at this point to it. Nothing ever changes.

Went into the match expecting a loss given how few players are left and how knackered they must be.

And it was a loss, but with a brave performance and more threat going forward than we've shown for a while.

That's the best Mitoma's played for months, João Pedro was a threat and Baleba played well in the middle. Ferguson still in a bit of a dip though and someone needs to give Adingra the instruction that he can take a shot on rather than squaring it every time.

The NSC anti-ref/VAR cohort after a loss is vast and it drags on for a week.

Luckily I'm with you. The Ignore Thread facility is a :rave:Godsend:rave: , thank you @Bozza, a click swipes the new threads out of sight ad infinitum.
Well....I don't see it, so perhaps the Great Conspiracy theorists are already on my little list. ???

The bottom line is that we were given a lifeline ( at 2 -0) by a valid sending-off, yet we failed to capitalise on it for an entire 45 mins.
Their iffy penalty was the nail in the coffin, as I couldn't really see us coming back to score a further 2 goals.
At least it wasn't the thumping than many here expected, but we certainly had a chance to salvage a point....possibly more.
Errr. we did come back and score 2 goals...

Was the decision changed? Pawson said no handball. VAR said check it, which he did, but confirmed it wasn’t a handball.
According to Warren he was pointing to the spot

Let’s be honest, it was a lot closer than most of us thought pre match

Thursday night hang over as seen elsewhere in the league today with the exception of a late Liverpool winner.

On to Brentford

We cannot let Brentford overtake us on Wednesday, really need to win against them to separate the gap again.

For he blow the whistle before the ball went out? If he did, he's the fastest whistler in the West! No penalty, corner.
He gave the penalty.

Well....I don't see it, so perhaps the Great Conspiracy theorists are already on my little list. ???

The worst thing officials can be accused of is unconscious bias, affected by a home crowd or being sh1t scared of making a critical gaff against a club with a big media presence.

Oh, how far we've come in the last few years. We go to stamford bridge and get upset when we leave with nothing!
There aren't many free hits for us anymore....maybe man city away and we 'expect' to lose at villa park.
Ref did ok if slightly lenient, quite a bit of rough housing let go in the first half especially although I thought milners 'tackle' was a penalty straight away, the same as I thought colwills faceball was as well!
It was entertaining....heyho....on to Brentford-Amazon-Wednesday 6th- 7pm
