How many points do you get when you get battered by 4 or more goals? I forget.

Because that is what would happen if we tried to attack some of these teams.

You know that for a fact do you? Or is that your opinion?

But the top teams (bar city) have been beaten by some of the lesser teams this season, so it can be done? There isn't much between all us lesser teams either. We give ourselves pretty much no chance of winning, which is a shame I think

Nuts.
Totally nuts. Think the players or supporters get anything from these performances?

1 point. Even if we just got one more point we'd be better off. Goal difference only matters if you're assuming there is absolutely no way we can get points against the top 5 or 6 teams, but other teams have clearly proven you can get points against those teams.

Don't we all? Some of us realise that we lose matches as well, without thinking the world's going to end.
We've got a great manager & team doing their best.

Had it on a moody stream that worked off and on for a while, but I can't be bothered to get it back again now. Frankly I was bored stiff. We are just so, so passive in these games, its a waste of time tuning in or turning up. Another Spurs-type performance, where we get to the halfway line, then turn, pass it backwards, lose possession, repeat repeat repeat.

I'm not saying we should go gung-ho, but there is a balance to be struck. We're not even attempting to compete in these games. I'm just glad I didn't waste any money travelling up there for this one. I'm loving this season overall, but games like this are the downside.

Won't work. You just have to look at the results over the years to see that. Yes there are random wins and points for attcking teams but overall it's better to do what we are.

How is zero points better? Better than what? One of those random wins you highlight would be better than nothing. This is borefest football.

Well maybe you will against Bournemouth, now some of best players have had a rest and confidence is probably ok after not getting twonked by Chelsea

The fact that we are giving some of the fringe players a game is good imo. We were never expected to win today but Schelleto, Izquierdo and Kayal started and haven’t disgraced themselves so that is a big plus imo. The more match ready players we have the better. Haven’t read the thread but presume Goldson lost his place because he hasn’t played for months before the Watford game.

No doom and gloom here, looking at the positives

The success of our approach to this game can only be seen in the context of how we do against Bournemouth and toon
