Way out West
There was an assumption with Mason Mount, because he was announced on Manchester United's website on July 1 that [his sale] had been put into this current season.

"So the £55million of profit was in this season. It now transpires that Mason Mount appears to have been transacted in 2022/23 and that is how they got through [FFP rules]."

Host Simon Jordan said: "Which means they've now got a £55m bigger hole this season."

Borson continued: "Correct, because we also know from the BlueCo accounts that they are currently, from the post-balance sheet events, that they are something like £48m in profit for this year.

"But of course, this year from an operating perspective, is going to be even worse than last year because they've got no Champions League and no Europe at all.”

Reflecting on potential Chelsea exits, he said: “It's those sort of deals that need to be done. And by the way, they all need to be done by June 30. That, as we know, is articulated within the Forest decision.

"There's a whole conversation about how hard it is to sell players in the period before June. The Premier League actually suggested that more or less that it was impossible.”
I just listened to that TS piece - very interesting (thanks). One non-Chelsea reflection - Man Utd must have been really stupid to do the deal pre-30th June....they had Chelsea over a barrel, but still coughed up £55m! Hopefully no one else will be so stupid in June 2024. One would like to think that all the other Premier League clubs will very much enjoy the prospect of seeing Chelsea docked points next season, and therefore will steer clear of Broja, Gallagher and the like....even at knock-down prices.

It does feel like our time in the sun could be ending, however we have not become instantly shit. We are still capable of beating anyone and that is good enough for me, all things considered.
Oh yeah I'm not saying 'no more wins for us', we'll bloody the odd nose between now and the summer.
But that's a long way from 'we'll beat x, y & z on the way to next seasons Europa League' & we should be beating #TeamsLikeChelsea.

The team isn't running at 100% and hasn't been for quite a while.
95% doesn't get the job done in the EPL and that extra 5% doesn't appear to be returning any time soon.

I think I'm at about the same level as you. Other than the game against Grimsby I haven't expected us to win any particular game since April 2017. On the other hand I can go to every game with realistic hope of a win and have done so since towards the end of Potter's reign (you know, when he spotted Caicedo could play football and everyone tried shooting). This makes me happy, so then Europe and so on makes me tumultuous.

Sussex but not by the sea
Let Chelsea collapse. If all clubs hold their nerve until near June 30th then Chelsea would be forced to sell a LOT of players for way less than market value or would have to take their chances with a big points deduction. What we don't want is some rich, stupid club like Man U offering £50m+ for Conor f***ing Gallagher in mid-June.

Actually when does the transfer window open? It will also be in the middle of the Euros.

"Surely supporters deserve a coherent, detailed strategy update from the ownership on their medium/long-term plans? They have yet to receive one.

There is a very consistent strategy. Call Paul Barber.

Yes. It's rare I wish ill fortune for another club but I would like those associated with Chelsea FC to pull together and drag that awful club down still further.... and I really hope RDZ is never tempted by Boehly to join them....

Chelsea fans weren't protesting when they were stripping us of our best player or our other staff.

In fact they were gloating remorselessly.

Horrific club. Horrific fans
This new development is hilarious. The fans are not divided scream fans group in denouncing fellow fans. I am amazed at the ingenuity on display at making Chelsea look more of a laughing stock with each passing day.

It gets worse for Chelsea fans. Only fair thing to do is strip them off of their silverware and relegate them to the national league.

National League? I would suggest the Combined Counties Football League where AFC Wimbledon started...

The dull part of the south coast
It still makes me laugh that we absolutely rinsed them for over £200million quid and could be one of the reasons they fail FFP and PSR. £65M For Cucurella has to go down as one of the most hilariously poor value signings of modern times and its funny as hell.
Well it is now, but if you remember he was considered one of the best full backs in the league when he was with us. Man City offered (allegedly) £30m for him which was turned down. Then the London mugs came onto the scene.

Too many fans only used to the trophy winning recent years. It’s become a toxic club.

After a poor performance against Leicester (missed penalty, and put a free kick impressively high & wide) Raheem Sterling was pretty heavily boo’d off the pitch by Chelsea fans as he was subbed. Entitlement through the roof.
Mercenaries & Hove Albion.
