Looking at one of their forums, unless it's satire (and sadly I don't think it is) probably a lot of belligerent protest about being victims of a government conspiracy.

A government many of them (the red faced ones) voted for

Oh well shxt happens, as a palace fan my contempt of Chelsea dates back to the 70s having been to SB with crowds of 8000 in a “ London” derby with all the boot boys and NF openly selling the YNF paper peddling hate to 12 year olds, singing “ we hate cannavile” to their own black player then being bankrolled by blood money Grrrrrrrrrr !

I know I am supposed to hate Brighton but my hatred for all things Chelsea is so much greater…..mind you I am not that keen on dirty Leeds TBH.

I worked with a bloke with no interest in football who would go to the Bridge and stand with his back to the game for 90 minutes, looking for a fight.

If Chelsea announced before KO they had a black player in the team, he and his mates would stay in the pub and boycot the match.

I appreciate that all clubs had nobwit 'fans' like this, but I am enjoying a small amount of retrospective schadenfreude.

I grew up just down the road from Chelsea, that's why they are my team. 1976 my first game, long long long before Abromovich came along and will be until I die. I have no influence on the day to day running of the club. Only managed 5 Chelsea games so far this season. Doesn't look like I'm gonna make any more for the foreseeable. What ever happens, you can't just turn off your support just like that.

Brighton is my local team now, enjoying my season ticket this past 8 years but I will always be a Chelsea fan.

Before you all start, it is possible to watch/support more than one team. I have always gone to watch my local team as I've moved around, used to be a regular at Portsmouth, Southampton and Weymouth....

See ya in the Norf Stand on Saturday.......

My golf partner is a Liverpool fan and has been since he first watched football 50 years ago…yet has had a ST for brighton since the 70’s. Playing against a guy on Wednesday who was also a lifelong fan and also has watched brighton since the 80’s.

I don’t subscribe to this …you must only be a fan of your home town team!

Got a neighbour who’s a Chelsea supporter. Well, he watches them on telly and has an oversized Chelsea tea mug.

Of course, you should only be a fan of your home town team. That is what football should all be about. Switching allegiance from, say. Brighton to Derby i can understand if you move up there and they become your local team. I would never do it myself (or move to Derby!) but I can see why a not-so-committed fan might do so.

That’s great but you’re not really a Brighton fan are you? You’re a fan of football, and nothing wrong with that. Just don’t move to Croydon ;)

Well I was born in Huddersfield and as I left in 1966 when I was 8. It is still my home town (sic) team and I always look out for the results and have watched them at Wembley, and when brighton were away and town in London I would go and watch them. My brother however actually was only 3 when we left to go to South Africa in 1966 yet he started to support brighton when I started in 1974.

He on the other hand ( after an encounter with a **** at a brighton Huddersfield game) asked to be moved over to the away end to sit with the town fans and that evening cancelled his st and hasn’t been since getting a st for Huddersfield

Me and all the lads from work have found much amusement in this news.
Awful fans and a total bell end of a manager.

Probably depends on how long the sanctions last for, any period behind the start of next season and the slow descent starts as established first team players leave and the U23s have to be used.

I think you might expect to hear him ( and others) say soon that he never really supported them and he’s always been a Liverpool / Man City fan.

Struggling to feel any empathy. Reality is it is unlikely they will crumble .

I've generally found their fans to be gobby, entitled and never from anywhere near the stadium radius. Perhaps they'll learn some humility and gain some undertstanding of the struggle of others. Doubt it though.

It’s occasional moments like this where it’s so nice to be able to smile smugly and say “ I told you so…”. Ok so it’s taken about 20 years for this moment to arrive but I’m enjoying it.

They’ll survive. Who cares really. They’ll go back to being like West Ham.

The bigger question - who profits from their sale now? Where will that money really go?
