It really is one of the most beautifulest things in the world.
Having quaffed down a sizeable medium rare sirloin earlier, I hit the cheeseboard.

Nice piece of Roquefort, Somerset Brie, extra hot mexicana, strong farmhouse cheddar, cherry tomatoes, celery and a tin of anchhovies.
All washed down with a bottle of Châteauneuf-du-Pape.

Any other cheese fans with any recommendations?

I bought 3 french cheeses a while back and all were good, cant remember the name of one "Brandenburg?" or something like that, the others were Comte and Felician(spelling?). I'm better at eating em than spelling them.

Also some old amsterdam which was quite reasonable.

I recommend that you never ever ever eat flavoured cheese it's just wrong.



My perfect board would be Quickes Vintage Cheddar, Rochebaron, Blue Monday, Capra Nouveau or Ragstone and
Vacherin du Haut Doubs served with quince jelly and some miller damsel biscuits, not forgetting a nice ruby port.

If you like a nutty, mountain type cheese like a gruyere then try Mayfield. Local and properly amazing

Try the Mont d'or or a St Marcellin with a drizzle of truffle honey when it comes out the oven.. Amazing!

Cheese fans should at least once in their life make the pilgrimage to Gruyere.

Beautiful Swiss village in wonderful surroundings,when you are finished with the cheese shops and cheese restaurants you can have a special WTF moment and visit the museum celebrating the film Alien nestled in the old castle walls.
