Tough news;but sadly,I think that 2010 will herald a lot more unemployment than we have now.
Take 'Strings' advice and keep at it.Have a good think about the skills you have to offer and don't discount a complete change of direction.....good luck.

I've often wondered (esp whilst hunting for work) if NSC could help here. So much gets discussed here, would there be some value in having a separate "Looking for Work" section? I would have happily added my name to a list with a short para on skills - and people could have PM'ed me if they had a role or had heard about a possibility? NSC is the sort of place where people would help each other out I think. Maybe we don't need more off topic threads/sections - it's just a thought.

Yes, but at least it is f***ing bankers getting the chop after causing everyone else to have financial problems.

If they were having to live in the real world, there would be thousands more out of work!

I bet the tossers are still trying to tell everyone else how to run their businesses as well!

You got 6 months, that's loads of time, I've been made redundant twice and never been out of work for more than a month. There is work out there if you are willing to look for it.

I'm with you. If bloody Ross hadn't invented those bloody CDS thingamiijiggys and lent you, me and everyone else 110% mortgages, none of us would have ever been in this damn situation.

Unfortunately, the problems have nothing to do with 110% mortgages or the like.

Simply the fact that the banks are the ones who caused the current financial crisis, which is causing all of our businesses to suffer, even though it is not of our making.

I refuse to have an overdraft for my businesses, as I would not want to give any of them a chance to try to tell me what to do with them. Even my last "Commercial Manager" (Relationship Manager) when he came to see me to try to get me to take more of my Bank's "Products" was forced to accept that I was better-off without one.

Neither, I am sure, are the problems anything to do with the poor sod who started this thread who has just lost his job.

Much sympathy, it's happened to me in the past. Maybe you should see if Lloyds can give you a job in India instead.

Don't agree - its everything to do with the 110% mortgages and the like. The mentality that existed during the credit boom - that they could lend any amount to anybody with a pulse, with no consideraion of risk, is at the basis of the whole thing.

No reflection on the OP however - hope it works out for you in the end.

No you moron, it'd not bankers who are loosing thier jobs, it'd normal people who have mortgages and families to support.

both me and Mrs Camp work for Lloyds - we did not make the decision go go begging to the government to help the bank, but by the end of next year we will both be unemployed.

Exactly - and the dimwit then has to ask what part of his comment is wrong.
