This must NOT be allowed to happen.

When we get a decent crowd, we play SHITE ( although to be fair 99% of our home games we have played shite)

Insider has ruled this out. Another chance to generate some interest in the club gone down the tube.

Insider said that it was too late to do this for Saturday but i cannot understand why they cannot just adjust the prices on the computer for all tickets that are sold in the shop and then announce it on radio tv etc. Perhaps there are other consideration s that I /we are not aware of like informing and getting permission from the FL. Shouldnt affect Oldham because I dont think that away teams get a % of the gate receipts now for league games.

Won't be fair for people who have already brought match tickets at full price, but they could do a promotion for the Stockport game- 1/2 price (or tenner off) ticket for anyone who has brought an Oldham ticket

People who have already brought a Stockport ticket could get a refund to the price of the discount, and season ticket holders could buy a cheap ticket on behalf of somebody else

Surely Saturday's game is so important that they should reduce the prices across the board to try and fill the ground.

As a season ticket holder I would not object to reducing the cost of a ticket to £5 or £10. Make it so Dick/Ken or whoever decides such things.

As long as someone buys mine, first, that's fine with me ;)

Could the club not see this coming.... we NEED a big crowd and a good atmosphere.

Sod it if it upsets a couple of people. I'm sure they'd understand... give em a partial refund if they whinge.

It really does seem like a missed oppurtunity....

they've had since Monday to work this out, and even longer if they had a bit of imagination.

Won't be fair for people who have already brought match tickets at full price,

That's essentially the same argument put out on behalf of season ticket holders every time price cuts are mentioned.

A good counter argument:
North Stand Chat - View Single Post - Do you think it will be a sell out on saturday?

I've already bought a ticket for saturday, full price. Of course if they were to say "if you buy a ticket this friday get it half price" I'd feel like I should have waited, but I won't begrudge the club this if it brings in a crowd that raises the team. (though as someone has said in another thread, our bumper crowds this season have often coincided with some woeful performances, perhaps we need to deter fans...)

What rubbish! If you bought a pair of jeans in a shop in Churchill Square today and found out tomorrow that they had decided to reduce the price to help shift the unsold ones would you expect the extra money that you paid returned.

No of course you wouldnt. it is a legitimate business promotion to sell unsold products and turn over extra money.

See your point about not issuing a refund, but you can see how many fans would be annoyed by a promotion, especially if they have just brought a ticket. Remember, the clubs customers are fans, and not just shoppers like your jeans example

My main point was that we should make an oppurtinity to sell a lot of extra tickets for the Stockport match, as we could very well be relegated before that game, and people wouldn't bother buying a ticket for a relegated side.

If it could be tied in with the Oldham game, it would boost the attendance for that match, without having to offer a mass reduction less than 72 hours before the game

Insider has agreed that it wouldnt be fair on those who had already bought tickets, I dont agree but that is democracy freedom of choice and views.

We as supporters can only make suggestions and if the club do not agree that is their perogative.

I've just bought tickets at £24 each because I'm HAPPY to spend £24 on the club. If the tickets go down to £5 tomorrow I have no issue whatsoever with that. Good if it does.

I'm a season ticket holder and I don't give a toss if tickets are sold for £10 a pop. The more the merrier as far as I'm concerned.

I hope the club do something like this for the Stockport game as doing it for Oldham is a bit too late.

They could have somebody inside each turnstile handing a fiver to anyone coming through. There's just so LITTLE imagination these days!

Anyone who doesn't renew solely on the basis that the club are reducing ticket prices to get more punters in, are fools!

Obviously I would disagree with reductions for every single game, but for the odd game I don't mind at all.

Season tickets aren't just about saving a few quid on home tickets. They gve you discount at the club store, preference for big cup games, two free dvds. Beyond that there is the added advantage of having every ticket in advance, no need to makes sure you can get into town to the ticket office every other week, no need to sort out getting to withdean to pick up the ticket you bought on line last minute.

There is more benefit to being a STH than saving a couple of quid per game.
