These are just fantastic. Best value and very tough and fantastic sound. Worth the extra wonga because they'll last a long time.

Do you honestly think a 60 to 80 quid pair as opposed to a 25 quid pair is noticebly better on a normal ipod ? Genuine q .

Absolutely. I have a pair of Sennheiser headphones that cost about £50 which are better than the Sonys that cost £32. Both pairs are blown out of the water by the Bose AE2s that I bought last month.
I encode everything at 320k though.

Where do you set the encode rate ?

In iTunes goto edit > preferences and then on import settings change setting to custom and set it to 320kbps. Of course if you're importing MP3s you need to make sure you use high quality 320kbps.

As per larus when listening on a high quality pair you can really hear the difference. I have some cheap Marley for about £30 which are my backup ones at work in case I forget my others. I have Sennheiser HD25 headphones which are from when I DJ a few years ago, they're still good and my professional ones are the Shure SE535 which are about £500 or something. It's what you see in the ears of the professional singers etc. on stage at gigs and what not. The triple driver speakers are out of this world?

The spiel: The SE535 utilizes Triple High Definition MicroDrivers – a dedicated tweeter and dual woofers for incredibly spacious sound and rich bass. It is the choice for discerning professionals and audiophiles. The SE535 is ideal for in-ear personal monitoring and for mobile listening devices. The detachable, Kevlar reinforced cable with formable wire allows for easy replacement and secure, comfortable fit.
