Amazingly, a British person who has been out of the country for four years has just told me that they'd not come across the word "chav" before. So I've already pointed them in the direction of www.chavscum.co.uk by way of explanation but I'd have thought the good denizens of NSC may have some other fine illustrations of what exactly is meant by the word.
