Looking forward to going to the Valley again next season!

A Saturday game would be nice!

Offering free buses to The Valley was just as despicable. Not blaming them for trying to destroy our club but it was a pretty shit thing to do.

They weren't free, they were £5 return initially, £7 now (we only run them from Sussex for 'big' games now, though all the Kent ones still run) and were aimed at our own 'dormant' fans - particularly that 'lost generation' from our Selhurst/Upton Park wilderness years who have relocated to Sussex. as it happens, there's always been a fair chuck of our season ticket holders (around 4-5% I am reliably informed) who live in Sussex.

If it makes you any happier, we are likely to go into administration (and have points deducted) next season. Last night was our last chance for a while. Although I expected Millwall to win the final no matter who they ended up against. Gadnammit.

I thought Charlton blew it tactically last night. Whilst they had the numerical advantage after the silly studs up from the Swindon skipper, they failed to get enough decent crosses in and seemed to resort to taking pot-shots.

We're skint and the club has started tearing itself apart. Our Head of Club Development has been openly posting on fans message boards that the CEO is useless and absentee and the board don't have the balls to sack him, we had to sell Shelvey to Liverpool for £1.75m *BEFORE* the play-offs (losing our best player in the process) to cover payments due, and reports are our debt is £40m and rising by 200k a week. We've already had to sell off our training ground, and selling the Valley is now pretty much inevitable.

Cheerful reading (albeit from the Daily Mail):

I thought they started out free. Didn't your club also place ads on Brighton Buses touting for business at that time?

Not happy about it at all and even less happy that you might lose The Valley-again!

Maybe chasing that Premiershit Dream isn't all it's cracked up to be?

Doesn't make me any happier. Quite like you as a club. Had such a good night up at your place a few months ago and I would like to repeat the experience.

Good Luck!

They were never free. £5 when they launched in 2005, £7 now. Paul Scally is still moaning about it five years later, but to be honest is this theoretical Brighton or Gillingham fan who will happily ditch their team and attend the Valley instead just because there's a cheap bus there, really the sort of 'fan' you'd want anyway?

Not sure about ads on Brighton buses, but there were adverts for Charlton season tickets up at Brighton station a few years back, which I thought was a bit cheeky.

Since we're looking to attract new fans to our new stadium next year, I'm going to have to say yes.
