Are long posts only peculiar to Burnley followers?

Sorry I write overlong I guess but prefer that to try & cover all angles. Also I can't see ANYTHING to be gained by a Burnley fan not discussing this with his fellow fans. As I see it they're the Club most likely to miss out completed games or not :)

And someone who doesn't understand the situation at Charlton or Bolton at all.

I'd more than disagree especially with the Bolton saga - but another time when I'm not on my first time of writing & being inferred to as not genuine.

Not at all - there's just lots about your tone that just doesn't feel right. And you're a new account too, of course. Also...

1. This:
The 18 second game was England v Norway Ladies U19s in 2015

...is a character for character copy and paste from post 172 on this thread: http://www.uptheclarets.com/messageboard/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=3342&start=150

2. As is this:
In fact - you copied and pasted it so badly that the URL is broken because you copy and pasted the raw text and not the properly formed URL.

3. Post 184 on the same thread:

"Jeez. Just read Post 27 on this Brighton board by a Charlton fan called Webbo sucking up to them & trying to justify how valid their protests are. What a jerk. They really do think they are something special & hard done to don't they? Big win to shut their bleating mouths required methinks"

....reads very like someone who was involved in discussions here and then ran back to the other side to report in.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I've got a decent gut feel for these things having run this board for what feels like ever.

Police should insist game goes ahead behind closed doors. Fans can clamour and shout outside, the football game doesn't get abandoned or delayed and the Charlton fans get lots of publicity about their plight.

NO NO NO! After Hillsborough the police gradually got more and more draconian powers in relation to football matches, more than any other sport in the country because we the fans were perceived as troublemaking scum to be treated with contempt by the authorities. Its ridiculous that all the laws and rules that were enacted to control football fans have not been reviewed and updated or even in some cases repealed because we have moved on considerably from the dark days of the 70s & 80s. This is not a police matter this is for the club to ensure they have adequate stewarding in place to prevent anything from happening, if that means increasing stewards tenfold then so be it. The last thing I want to see is the Police strutting around taking control and perpetuating the myth that football fans need controlling, its time we moved on from that.

That would almost be an inspired piece of detection - if it wasn't for the fact in my first post I told you I'd been sent a link to that site by a friend. I even quoted from it!

Sorry to burst your bubble but you'll have to wait for your Miss Marple outfit on this wild guesswork. Of course I copy, pasted & slightly shortened in parts those posts. They back up my own views so why not use them? Not exactly plagiarism & ironic how I've tried to make comments briefer I get told I write too long

I've spent hours on here today. Reading, making comments on more than one thread & this after taking 2 days to join. If I was a fan of another Club I'd be on their board not this one. As for the copied post by the Charlton lad I can only guess it was my mate's mate who knows me & knows I was joining this site yesterday.

You need to be less suspicious. My paranoia is about missing out on going up as I GENUINELY don't trust the authorities to make the right & fair call if that last game is abandoned

Also if you are a senior member who runs this board it's not very welcoming to a new member when I opened with the links to the site you connect me with. See you around. Signing out to eat now if that's ok? :)

listen people HAVE CONFIDENCE win the next two games (and we can do it you know) put your fingers in your ears and just wait until the explosion.
ONWARDS AND UPWARDS

If things look bad at the Charlton game the pitch will be surrounded by police and stewards so none will get anywhere near it

It's firmly down to the Police & Crowd Control to ensure that Burnley game is played in full

I'm struggling to see what the police have got to do with it. Surely it's up to Charlton Athletic to "control" their crowd?

Disgraceful.

Not like we would ever do such a thing. Now, someone mentioned an anniversary or something ?

Let's focus on us, forget them, anyone looking at the last game needs their bumps read, we have to beat Derby yet and that isn't a given.

None of them are a given. If you look at the final 2 games last season, it was the 'nothing to play for' teams that had the biggest impact on the promotion race. Derby, Birmingham, QPR, Charlton, all of them can have a massive impact on the top 2. I don't know about you, but I am a bit over whelmed.

Also see West Brom ruining Spurs hopes of winning the Premier League as a prime example of a 'nothing to play for team'. I agree that any of the four you name could very easily decide who goes up.

The seaside.
Charlton have taken the front six rows of the Lower North (which most of the projectiles come from) off sale. Looks like these seats will be covered and out of use. This is probably counter productive though, since it means people won't be able to reach the pitch with harmless things like balloons and beach balls, so less harmless things like marbles and hand grenades will be used. If the game *is* abandoned, it will be replayed a few days later behind closed doors (fans told this by players who were told to be on call until May 13th as club has been told they have to replay midweek if it doesn't complete on the 7th). I'm all in favour of the league forcing the club to play the original game behind closed doors tbh, particularly if it's on Sky - protestors would still be heard chanting from the car park, and completely empty stands (rather than the usual 50% empty ones) would be a great testament to the visionary that is Roland Duchatelet...

I'd exclude Derby from that list of 'nothing to play for' teams. Despite securing a Play Off place they want to end their season with a winning momentum to take into the Play Offs. Bent has publicly said so but I think it was pretty much a given they'd not want to end their fixtures in any kind of downbeat mood that 1 or 2 losses would give them

Always end a game on a high to take into the next one. Multiply that factor to end a season going into a knock out/all or nothing set of games. The others have pride & financial gain from the positions they end in (Charlton's agenda is less money orientated being already down)

No easy games though ours are by far the toughest games to end with. We're up to it. Believe

Let's not forget that Charlton beat Middlesbrough.
