Entertaining, strong Charlton side, if we were more clinical.... always chasing.... decent performance.... played to win ...
Great goal from Macca..... second half same... looks like we have control and they score.... credit to players for desire...

Thing is, with 1 or 2 more players we really really could be one of the top two best teams. A strong back 4 when fully fit, a midfield to drool over, just nothing special up front, and not a great deal of depth at the moment in the squad. Frustrating. Couple of defenders and a class striker in Jan and we'll be right up there.
Don't forget we also need a new manager, one who used to be a striker.

Why in God's name does this matter? Who even knows what position Ferguson or Guardiola or Ancellotti played?

Genuinely interesting statement..

...if you are twelve years old.

Yup, it's a bollocks statement that only a complete cretin would make. Oh, and here is one. (A post from Worthingite earlier in this thread)

Hate to say it, I've been a Gus fan for a long time, and stuck with him, but I honestly think that that's it. We create loads of chances, and put ourselves into a good position, but we've got no killer instinct whatsoever, and to me that's Gus's fault. He has needed another striker for f*** knows how long, and he just hasn't bothered. Thanks for everything Gus, but time to give someone else a go. Preferably an ex striker!!!!

On way back on train - very scrappy game, extra 10 mins and we would've won it. Bridcutt bossed it and Buckley was good too, CMS held the ball up better than I've ever seen him do before, Dobbie wasted a glorious opportunity for a starting spot. Kaz and Barnes were good.

All that does is encourage me -- I had thought the Sussex common-or-hedge cretin was an endangered species. Turns out their numbers are strong.

And as we've both said in recent weeks, Bridge back in the line up saw Gus start with Dobbie instead of Barnes. We can do this managing lark.

Strange what radio can do

Listening on radio it seemed all Barnes done was miss a great chance to score a header and kept giving ball away more than keep possession ?

Sounded like Hoskins played well and Kaz done very well but his final ball was not up to scratch.

Also sounded quite an entertaining game , must be bloody good commentators lol

Barnes won the ball a fair bit, one very classy bit of link play, and won the foul right on the edge of the area that Kaz scored from. He was far better than the more naturally talented Dobbie.

It wasn't a bad game entertainment wise, but it was scrappy, more like a League One battle.

And won the free kick from which Lualua scored.

There was also "uh oh, El Abd almost scored an own goal, a wonderful save from Kuszczak, and Hoskins has cleared it, but Kuszczak has spilled it and has to tip it round the post. Great defensive work from Hoskins" So yeah, the radio is a bit iffy at times.

Just back ... we should have murdered them. They really didn't do much at all and the couple of times they did threaten they scored. We could have had 5 ... Buckley missed a great opportunity, CMS missed a sitter in first half and in the 2nd snatched at it when he had loads to bring down and pick his spot. KLL really got at them and had he had another 10 minutes think he might have won it for us. Dobbie was disappointing partic as I've been really wanting him to get a chance .. maybe not helped by an absence of any real midfield? Bridcutt immense, Hammond did well given he had to do the work of 2 or 3. Kooshack a bit dodgy

Off for dinner!
