It is cancelled this pre season. Presumably IF his suspension is lifted a replacement fixture could be arranged.

Regardless of whether Oatway has served the club well or not, he is still being paid. If in gross misconduct & becomes dismissed how would you feel as a paying customer of the club to give him a pay day?

Whatever the rights or wrongs of Oatway's suspension - a debate not suitable for NSC at the moment - the fact is the club DID decide to go down this route and so probably had no real choice but to pull the plug on this match for the time being.
I think it was scheduled for the second week in July (may be wrong) which would be cutting it fine to organise and market even if the suspension ended soon and all was well. I think most fans had sort of expected this news considering all that is going on.
As I said, nothing to stop a suitable testimonial match being organised once everything is sorted out if Oatway is cleared etc.

I don't think he is alone in questioning what is going on, but perhaps he is wording it badly.
£120m would suggest otherwise.
