As much as I like the guy the prices being charged are totally out of step with the current economic situation.

Totally out of range for most fans however I am sure the corporate world can afford this via some tax avoidance scheme.

I agree, I saw the thread title and thought it sounded like a laugh but £21 for a pub quiz is too much! My local pub quiz costs a quid. I know this one includes food but it's still quite excessive.

Yes it is 50:50 between Charlie & Albion in the Community.

It's £21 per head for a 2 course meal & a quiz night in The Amex (free parking, station nearby etc) - we charged £20 per head at Withdean for Gary Hart's Quiz Night and that was 5 years ago. We are trying to keep the prices down and certain events will appeal to different people.

I am quite surprised to say the least, 5 years ago the economic situation was totally different to now.

Yes the banks were critical but food and fuel prices were no where near what they are now.

Lovely gesture by him.

I'm the first to complain about Albion prices, I've stopped going because of them, but I reckon £21 is a decent price for a fun and charitable night. You'd pay close to £20 in a pub for the same food and you get the added bonus of various entertainments.

What would you pay?

£15 max bearing in mind drinks need to be paid for, since you asked.

Let's pair it back a bit and remove AITC, so we have someone paid way over the odds albeit for a shorter time although should and has found another job probably miles over the national average. A reward year that pays money whereas others have either a gift or extra leave - way over priced still in my view for what this is about.

Can I suggest that Beach Hut and Brighton Girl refrain from posting in a thread of a club charitable event, if they don't see fit to spend the money required and just wish to criticise the event?

It isn't just a charitable event though is it, also includes personal gain.

Whatever happened to freedom of speech or perhaps adopt the old of where I am currently and set the secret police on me for daring to disagree.

Sorry BOF but these type of prices are way out of line with the current economic climate.

Do you grizzle when train prices rise, above and beyond inflation?

Yes I do as directly I pay more tax as well.

The point is clear this is hugely overpriced for the average fan.

Three hours of entertainment, including food for £21 as opposed to £30+ to see us lose at home? I'm thinking the quiz sounds a lot more enjoyable than watching the team.

That ignores the ST price so totally distorted on value for money, I suppose we had better agree to disagree old sport

Is your judgement always this poor? This is a one off & match tickets are available as one offs also, so comparison is valid.

Thanks as always though for your support.

Agree with previous posters. Nearly 2 hours of 'entertainment' at the Amex with a pie and pint is about £40. A night's entertainment WITH a 2 course meal @£21 (HALF of which goes to charity) sounds good value. There's no real defence to say this is out of step with the current climate, if anything it's totally in step. It's about a tenner to go see a movie, a theatre ticket is about £30 MINIMUM and it costs me nearly £11 to go the same amount of miles on a train.

I'd also say that given the OP's political persuasion (he's happy to trumpet this whenever the need arises) it's somewhat surprising that he's moaning about 'personal gain' for someone. He sounds like one of those 'lefties' he's so frequently banging on about.
