Changes to BT Sport

Am I right in thinking that if I don't take up BT Europe I'll lose BT Sport 2? To be honest I watch the A League more than anything and quite often that's on 2.

I have a feeling they'll be sticking it up their arse.

It depends if all of your services are with BT or not. In essence, you either get BT Sport 1 with Extra (free if in contract for BB), or you get the full lot which is 1,2,ESPN,Europe,Extra (free or paid depending on who you're with for TV).

Downgraded within five minutes of receiving the email. They pay zillions for Champions' League, a competition I don't give a damn about, then expect me to pay for something I won't watch anyway. Only upset is I suspect, with the 'Lite' service, I'll see a lot less baseball.

About to ditch Sky too - almost £60 a month now. Will miss most of the Ashes at work anyway and that kind of money, on top of season ticket and travel costs from London for every home game, are making armchair football unaffordably expensive. Wonder how close we are to the bubble popping here? More and more people I know are ditching or at least renegotiating their TV deals.

Quite happy with the BT package. Already have TV and Broadband through them, so no extra cost for the Champions League stuff. Get Sky Sports 1, 2 and 5 through BT for probably half the price of the full Sky Sports package direct through Sky (there's never anything I like on SS3 or SS4 and SS News is a pile of shite). The only potential spanner is if Sky Sports 5 gets removed from the BT Package, as that is the channel I watch most for La Liga. Total package including broadband and phone is just over £50.

I signed up to BT Sport through Sky a month or so back when it was marketed to me that they would be getting the champions league. They'd highlighted they'd be a price increase so getting it at a fixed price for 12 months with no signing on fee and free HD seemed like a decent deal. They've since announced that it's going to cost me an extra £5 a month to get the one thing I wanted to watch. Suddenly £13 a month becomes £18 and on top of what I pay sky it will push my bill very close to £100 a month just for the TV part. Not happy.

You're paying way too much. When your contract runs out you need to negotiate a better deal. I always get a rolling contract and 50% off. Some people are able to get even more off.

I already cancelled my BT Sport a year ago when they said I had to renew my rubbish and expensive broadband (which I had 6 months remaining on) in order to keep BT Sport for free. Their service is absolute gash and I now get a better and cheaper broadband experience with Sky.

Just had a bit of to and fro, bit of negotiation and everyone happy (even a bit of free HD). Am pleased with BT overall, since I won't pay for Sky the Broadband and TV deals suit. Getting 60+ speeds hard wired and they now have offered me a good mobile deal.

I would suggest buying a Maige box. I have one in Asia and I get sky sports, BT sport, Astro sport , BEIN and many more. This also allows you to watch the 3pm games on Saturday too. It's about 200 quid for the box and a one year subscription and then each year thereafter is about 65 quid a year. It's immense!

It also has all the latest box sets and plenty of films on demand.

Lucky I have just got my Amazon fire stick put kodi on and should be able to stream the matches if need be

No, everything is with Sky. I just pay an extra £12 or so to get Bt Sport.

I'll be saying goodbye then to European football from now on, already paying £90 to sky every month not prepared to pay any more to watch football on other pay for view channels, too much football on anyway as it is, it'll do me good to miss some games as it's become too saturated and end up watching games for the sake of it, watch fewer matches and probably enjoy it more the football I do watch

My BT Sport comes free with BT Broadband on Sky. I watched the U21s last night to see if JFC got a run out, but rarely glance at it otherwise. I haven't had an email yet, but I won't be paying an extra £5pm if they do. Don't pay for Sky Sports now either even though I used to enjoy watching Sussex in the T20 matches. I enjoy my televised sport more now as it's just the occasional thing on terrestrial TV rather than wall to wall background sport. I also appreciate my occasional visits to the County Ground for a T20 Blast more now.
