I smoked 30 a day for 40 years, tried Champix gave up cigarettes after 14 days 4 years ago and haven't smoked since.Did not have any funny dreams but do know people that have.
.
.
I tried various products with not much luck. Gum, lozengers and patches but the one method which I believe is the best and the one that is the reason I haven't smoked for 15 years is good old fashioned will power. Get past the first week or 2 and it becomes a hell of a lot easier. Good luck.
Will power isn't available on the NHS. Champix is.
I think you'll find that with a little research it would become evident that Champix has often succeeded following failures of the will power method.
Oh yes. Any minute in a debate about giving up smoking, some smug git will come along and say, I just did it by will power, therefore everyone should. Will power doesn't cost the state a penny. A little time and patience and the willingness to say No is all that is needed. After all it's you that is in charge of your mind and not a drug.

Quite good that in this particular thread it took so long for one to appear, don't you think?
You've got to really want to give up first...no pill or e-cig is going to magically make you stop smoking. If you don't really want to give up then nothing will help. Emphysema would be good enough reason for me to want to give up...
Bloody Ex smokers are the worst for preaching...lol...I gave up in 2002
I just wish I had the willpower to lose the 2 stone I've put on since stopping smoking nearly 4 years ago.............

No - didn't work for me and I didn't like the dreams very much either.
This.
I did manage to stop smoking 7 years ago when my wife was pregnant.
I started to smoke again though, after a couple of years, just a few small roll up's a day. Then I quit for a while, smoked for a while, smoked occasionally, then quit again. Now I am back to about 40-50 roll up's a week.
I should quit again soon before it's too late. Problem is I rather enjoy it.

...... or try Champix...........He's kind of right, you have to want to stop, really WANT to stop. Then either cut down gradually, use an Ecig, or go cold turkey, depending on your personality traits or something.
Champix is a supplement to willpower, not a replacement.
