Twelfth for me. Behind Cardiff, Hull, Leicester, Watford, Middlesbrough, Blackburn, Leeds United, Blackpool, Birmingham, Bolton, Ipswich, and Wolves.
About 13th for me - Leeds, Forest, Cardiff, Bolton, Blackburn, Wolves, Leicester, Hull, Watford, Middlesbrough and Derby all probably have higher wage bills than us for starters and have more money in the kitty.
It's the other way round, i.e. there is a general correlation between success on the park and wages. That is to say, successful teams generally spend a lot on players. It's not quite true the other way, i.e. not all teams that spend a lot on wages are successful.Walt is right in saying that there is a general correlation between wages and success on the park

Aren't parachute payments for 3 years? That puts us way down the list and can't be considered an irrelevance given the fact that that puts at least 9 teams in front of us for wages.
