Confirmed what I saw with my eyes yesterday.
Hawes didn't make much of it on the commentary, so I assumed the decisions wern't too outrageous. But having seen it on TV, the ref stitched us up good and proper didn't he.

Ah well. Really didn't expect to get anything from that match anyway, although could've done without the battering to the GD. Three pivotal home games coming up - we MUST get an absolute bare minimum of 7 points from QPR, Hull and Millwall, otherwise I fear the writing is on the wall.

Kitson is a tosser - he got Elphick sent off (he didn't touch him) and then dived for the pen (again, nobody made contact). He is a f*cking cheat - no wonder McGhee was fuming on SCR.

Word!

f*** it, we were expecting to lose there anyway and to be honest, one point from two very tough away games was one point more than I expected.

As someone said, could have done without the GD taking a kicking but if we're going to get conned let's make sure it's not against the sides we're going to need to be ahead of come May.

Massive next five games, will be totally pivotal to our season.

Surprising as it may seem but we thought the ref was cr*p as well.

Seems you guys came with the intention of defend and frustrate. McGoo had obviously told your guys to do what was necessary to stop us.

Shame he put an inexperienced 18 year old, who clearly is not good enough at this level, into that situation. After 10 mins we were saying he was going to get sent off, every challenge he lead with his elbow, obstructed anyone running close to him and pulled shirts at every chance. Surprised he did not get a straight red for one of the elbows on Doyle.

Ref was weak by not stamping on it early on. Also missed Doyle being shoved in the back (sorry diving from your angle) and a handball in the area in the second half.

Maybe your lot should realise that if they start roughing the opposition up, and indulging in ‘gamesmanship’ they are likely to get some back.

From reading this board it seems McGoo’s moaning is becoming infectious down on the south coast. Still we have got used to it over the last ten years – happens after game since he left us. He clearly still has a problem with all things Reading. Probably still pissed that he got turned down when he applied for the manager’s job when Coppell joined. Still our loss is your gain.

I think that you must have watched a different recording on TV than me as I agreed with both decisions, a little harsh perhaps but correct.

I said it yesterday and didn't need the advantageous of a tv recording. imo of course

The ref was appalling.

I thought so at the time but both incidents happened so far away from the Brighton fans that you could not get a true picture until; the TV as they are not permitted to show controversial incidents i.e the penealty re-run on their big screen.

Yes it was a bad pen and yes Elphic was unlucky to get red carded at that point, but he would have gone at the next tackle or the one after that. He was getting roasted on that wing.

We were unluck to lose 5-1, but even if everything had gone our way, we still would have lost. They are the best side in the Championship by a mile.

Agree, Elphick looked as if he would get sent off, they just knew which buttons to push, and did...no getting away from poor tactics on our part. :p
