Just a marker for all your diaries, 4:30pm is the draw for the Champions League Group Stages. Live on SSN from 3pm with build up and from 4pm on Radio 5 Live Sports Extra.

The draw takes place in Monaco, the home of Casino's and high rollers but the stakes won't be any higher than at the Grand Casino this teatime.

Pot 2 is a bit tasty: considering it's Pot 2. (excluding the giants of Scotland of course)

An hour and a half "build up" to the draw
Sky Sports News really do struggle to fill their afternoon slots don't they.

How does it work that Wolfsburg won the German Bundesliga last season, and yet they are in pot 4 with most of the teams that had to go through the qualifiers , and yet arsenal who went through qualis go into the top pot :nono:

Think it's to do with the past record of Wolfsburg, added to the overall record of all german teams.

Pot 4 might as well not turn up. I would bet all the money I have (not that much) that NONE of them will get through the group stages.

It's a great draw in prospect. Firstly, seven of the eight in Pot Four haven't been it before, which is excellent. Secondly, there is the potential for either a piss-easy group or a group of death for the English teams.

If you got Atletico Madrid and Wolfsburg from Pots 3 and 4, after Inter or Juventus from Pot 2, you wouldn't be happy. Equally, you're loving Rangers or Alkmaar from Pot 2.
