Does anyone actually know what the situation was regards treatment of the R/M fans was like on entering the stadium?

Apparently so but not as bad. The difference was their gates were much more open spaces, more gates open etc.
Liverpool were kettled in a narrow route, with only 1 gate / 6 stewards at one point

Has it never occurred to you what a load of bollocks that completely half arsed illogical accusation is? If you go there intent on breaking in why would you need a ticket, fake or otherwise?

No idea how many (if any) fake tickets there were, but whatever the number it is an absolute certainty that the vast majority if them would have been bought in good faith. Victims then, rather than crooks, except to rabid anti-scousers. How many of the touts (who are the crooks) use, "You want tickets? A thousand quid each, please - or if that's too much, you can have a fake one for £250" as their sales pitch?.......... no, I didn't think so.

Liverpool fans, from the Lord Mayor of the city to the leader of the supporters' group, have attacked UEFA's declaration that the Anfield club have the worst fans in Europe.

The claims will come in a UEFA report to be handed to the Government in the wake of the shameful scenes in Athens at the Champions League final when Liverpool fans were accused of stealing tickets from their fellow supporters, charging the gates to get into the ground without tickets and causing trouble outside the stadium which ended with tear gas being used.

But Liverpool's Lord Mayor Paul Clark has hit back in the Liverpool Daily Post, saying: "UEFA appear to be trying to avoid the blame for the disorganisation of the final. To make matters worse, instead of looking at their own faults UEFA are blaming the people of Liverpool. Saying this is typical of Liverpool fans is unfair and reflects badly on the image of the city."

UEFA, in the wake of Anfield complaints over the way they handled ticket allocation and match security on the night, have hit back with a dossier claiming to show 25 incidents involving Liverpool fans since 2003 in Europe - more than any other club.

A fake ticket or a screenshot of an activated ticket on your phone allows you to get close to the gate. Typically there is a ‘checkpoint’ further from the turnstiles where they will check that you actually have a ticket before you walk to the turnstile to validate that ticket.

A fake ticket or screenshot could be enough to fool those visually checking to get you through. From that point if you are intent on jumping the turnstiles you can probably easily do it. There’s also the point that even if you have a ‘ticket’ but it doesn’t work, you create a blockage and not illogical that people either push you through, you can tailgate or you just overwhelm those managing the turnstiles.

And yes there were Scousers openly selling fake tickets on social media for £50+ on the last week or so

I know it does for you and for others on this thread. The facts are irrelevant, which is why people don’t want to wait for an enquiry before making their minds up. I suppose even the results of an enquiry being shoved down their throats wouldn’t end the bigotry.

I can be arsed to get involved too much in this thread but from what I read there is some good discussion and points being made on both sides. I dont agree with them all but at least there's a level of reason being attached to some arguments even if they are coming from seemingly biased positions. Your post is just cretinous, at best.

So it would make sense then to have a full digital ticket check further away from the turnstiles, for effective security barriers to be installed and better crowd management.

Considering the amount of money in football that in itself is a scandal. Our own club does exactly the same.
