Not so much related to any game in particular, but watching ETH scribbling on a piece of paper with a biro, what do managers/coaches write on these scraps? Surely they could afford a moleskin book and a decent pen?

I thought it seemed like a pretty clear red tbh. Planting your studs into the opponents ankle isn’t necessary to “protect the ball”.

It’s a good illustration of why VAR struggles though, absolutely nobody seems to be able to accept 50/50 decisions that go against them and that especially includes the media. Oh and to add, everyone always immediately thinks their interpretation is the correct one!

I think both those decisions are correct. It was a red card, even if he didn't mean it. You can't plant your studs down like that when there's a player there.
Maguire juggling the ball in the box seems like a fair penalty too :lolol:
